North Conway Indoor Boxes
Board: Region: Northeast

I wanted to let everybody know that the Mt Washington Chamber of Commerce has just launched a series of indoor letterboxes all around N. Conway Village! I think there are seven or eight stamps total plus at least three other indoor boxes placed by different boxers in the same area. The stamps for these boxes have been carved by some of our area's best carvers ;-) Check them out under the trail name Anything is Possible ( http://www.atlasquest.com/people/profile.html?gMemberId=50805 ).

So if you are planning on going up there to ski or shop, or just suffering from letterboxing withdrawal, you should check them out! They are having some sort of contest that ends in March so it will be at the individual store's discretion if they want to keep the boxes there after that. I'm not exactly clear on this to be honest.

Cheers,
Jackie

I was so excited to see these listed, I hope they will leave them longer, I don't usually head up north until the weather is better. Thanks for the "heads up", I'd hate to miss them. We just might need a mid-winter boxing excursion!!

Oh, wow, these boxes certainly look like a lot of fun and coupled with shopping it is a win...win! If it ever stops snowing, a nice ride will be in the forecast!

Does any have any more information about the nature conservancy letterbox challenge. First their web site said clues would be available Jan.1 and then it changed to "coming soon" There is a Preserve in North Conway also. http://www.nature.org/wherewework/northamerica/states/newhampshire/misc/art32613.html

I have been wondering the same thing. I have downloaded the "passport", but nothing else has shown up or their site. And I have been checking it daily!

I had contacted the NH office of the conservancy. They said they were working with some AQ members on designing the stamps and getting it up and running. You might try contacting their office via email. They were very nice.

Yes, I'm working on the Nature Conservancy series. :) Unfortunately, due to the insane amount of snow we've had, I haven't been able to get out and plant any of the boxes yet. But don't worry, the challenge is still on! The passports have been printed and you can either download from the Nature Conservancy website or request them by mail. :)

You can get more information and download the passport on their website here: http://www.nature.org/wherewework/northamerica/states/newhampshire/misc/art32613.html

And if you'd like to carve stamps for these series, let me know! :)

Thanks Vs and Mim! I'll be sending a list of things to carve that you can choose from. :) Sorry for the delay, I'm at the tail end of a freelance job and have been focusing on that for the past few weeks. Thanks so much for offering to help!!! :)

I got my Passport in the mail today. It is very nice with a space of each site. Can't wait to start hunting them.

I printed out the passport from their site. It is very nice and bigger than a "real" passport. Now all we need is for this snow to melt!

I'm so glad you like it! Bloobirdie (Megan from the Nature Conservancy) and I worked on it together and I thought it came out well! :)

I will see if the Connecticut office has any interest in doing something similar.
