Ok...it's been 6 days since I sent my first 5 cards...the suspense for them to arrive at their destinations is killing me! How will I ever make it through the further extension of time until cards begin arriving in my mailbox?!?!

:0)

My first card arrived at its destination in England after only 4 days. I was shocked! I was expecting to wait at least 2 weeks before that first card was registered. And I think I received MY first card (it came from Norway) less than a week after that. I was very excited. :)

However, I had 4 cards arrive in my mailbox yesterday, and 3 of them had been travelling around 40 days each (they were all Christmas cards). So it is very, very unpredictable.

Yay! Two of my postcards have been received! My first got to the Czech Republic in 8 days! 9 days to Taiwan. That means there are two coming my way! Yay! For some reason I'm more patient about these.

Thanks TG for the pep talk...it helped. :0)

Happy Post Crossing!

Great! Let us know when you receive your first card...and where it is from, of course. :)

Question for ya--Why do some people put the cards in envelopes?

Mine arrived in an envelope and I was suprised by that. I had noticed people requesting that you don't send one in an envelope...but I never imagined that people actually do-unless the card had an interesting theme, if..ahem..you know what I mean. :0)

Why do some people put the cards in envelopes?

Some people collect the stamps, and it's easier to cut the stamps off of the envelope than it is to try to get them off of the card. You can request no envelopes, but receiving a card in an envelope without requesting that is very rare.

Some people also re-trade what they get. I wouldn't re-trade mine, I like them written on with the postmark and all. The only thing about getting them "naked" is that many of them get to me with damage to the side of the card as it went through the postal machines.

A-ha...I see. I don't want mine naked..it's just as much fun for me to see the handwriting and the stamps as it is the card.

I'm in it to learn about people from around the world...not to trade cards --- {lol, this may change though}...maybe I should post that on my profile?

Thanks,

If you want it to be sent with no envelope, it's naked (no envelope=no cover :) I really need to get back into Postcrossing, I have way too many postcards around here!
