OK gang .... time to roll out the carpet and welcome some MN boxers to the upstate. TwoFreeTimers are planning a stop in the upstate and have contacted me about coming to the farm..... and they are all for a Mini-Meet while they are here.

So ..... Sunday March 21st, here on the farm. Boxing, exchanging, messy kids (no not my goat), laughing, fun, and what ever else comes up !

What do y'all think ? And since some boxes are leaving the farm, I have some other AWESOME creative ones to take their place so some new stuff for y'all to come hunt. Don't forget Tristan's HHH, and your LTCs. I know this is the weekend after Crappie but that is when they are planning on coming through. I hope everyone can make it at least for a little while !

That is the same day as Shalomfest that Fluffy Cow will have a booth and a limited time (one day only) stamp will be there. May be possibe to do both depending on the time frame. What is the anticipated time frame?

Or maybe just do it at Shalomfest? And then maybe lunch-- Fluffy's gotta eat before or afterwards, right? Or is there food there? Mini meets are usually informal away (like the Rollin' Thru at McDonalds).

Yes indeedy! Last year there was brisket and latkes and pickles and kugel and cookies and pretzels... (I have my kids rattling off the list, hence the run-on sentence)

PS....please be sure to bring your pennies. My 6th grade class is trying to raise money for the Holocaust Museum in Atlanta and at the same try to show by example (and ratio) the number of children that didn't survive the camps. We will have a donation box in the room with the exhibit.

Okay, I see from this that I did ask a pretty crazy question:

Food is what brings people to a cultural festival, and ShalomFest will not disappoint. Delicious pastries prepared by members of our own congregation will be offered along with hot foods and holiday treats that are traditional in many Jewish households.

Actually, I'm glad you brought it up again with the link since it looks like an interesting and educational experience. It might be fun to bring the kids out to it. It looks like a late morning to late afternoon event with stuff booked all day. I particularly like teaching the boys history so the pennies with the exhibit does sound interesting.

You know, if you wanted a few more boxes there for the day, I bet SHH and Padawan have a bunch of themed stamps sitting around they would donate for the day.

One of my closest friends is Jewish. She's also ver knowledgeable about the public education system, writes curriculum and has a son with Asperger's. She comes with me to Eli's IEP meetings - it's good to have a friend at those things. Otherwise it's me - and everyone else is being paid by the school.

She invariably brings food. She comes in with her big bag and brings homemade hummus, egg salad, guacamole and an assortment of crackers and cheese. The first time she did this, people at my son's school were blown away. I said "Sorry, I can't stop her, she's a Jewish mother...." ;-))

She also taught me to make homemade hummus...... yum!!

If you can go to the festival - I'd jump at the opportunity - and DON'T eat before you get there!

AUGH sorry .... but that was the day they were going to be here and did not think to look at the other stuff. Sorry Medic !!!! DID NOT mean to step on toes at all !!!!

I am planning informal as it is Sunday ... so I whenever is fine with me, it will take them a little while to do the farm as you know, and thought about lunch - maybe would whip something up but as most of my friends growing up were Jewish - I don't hold a candle to good homemade Jewish food. I will do my best though.

What works for you and everyone else as I am about to post the event ?

After I get off yet another conference call ..... I will take some time to see what I need to get the farm back up and boxing !!! :O)

Can't wait to see everyone and meet our new friends and maybe I can even get my newbies to show too .... SOOOOOOOOO wish Kris could come but I know she can't do the weekend thing... and GHopper, I know Sunday this far is not good for you ...... and there is a little conflict with Medic and Fluffy .... SO SORRY ! :O( BUT anybody that can PLEASE come play ...

No toe steppin here.....can't control when visitors roll through. I still may be able to stop by...I have not been volunteered yet for anything. For those that are trying to plan both, the drive will be about 45 minutes from one location to another.

Yes, twofreetimers had to cancel at my place. It was a sudden unexpected death, so they had to travel quickly back home. Keep them in your prayers for a safe journey and peace and healing while they deal with the loss of a family member.

But they advised that they travel through the South regularly, so hopefully we can all meet up with them next year ;-))

Yes they did have to cancel and I notified everyone signed up for the event. Did not want to post it on the boards .... I don't know, I felt like if they didn't post it ....

The opinions so far are to still have the farm play date and maybe a Birthday party for a special special little girl !! So if anyone still wants to come play ..... sign up ....
