I so appreciate that you are keeping us posted on what's going on with Oldhounder. With so many Good Vibrations coming from this wonderful group, he must be feeling a special happy & healing tingling by now. Bob & I wish the best of outcomes for this unique and awesome character. Sending good vibes to Siamese also. Please continue to keep us posted on how Oldhounder is doing.

I just spoke with Siamese. Oldhounder is doing well--a bunch of tubes have been removed & he took a few walks around the nurse's desk today. He is sleeping a lot, of course, but his spirits are good & he hasn't gotten ornery yet. :-) Recovery is moving along nicely. No pathology report yet, nor an indication of when that might come, but it has been the weekend.

Thanks for the update. We'll know he's truly on the mend when "ornery" returns!!!
Get better real soon, OH!
And warm thoughts to you too, Siamese.

I just spoke to Oldhounder and he sounds good! He was making his usual off-color (and endearingly inappropriate) jokes, so I feel much better about his progress. :-) He's trying to wait patiently to get stronger and be done with all the post-surgery/hospital stuff. He doesn't sound too aggravated...yet.

I just got a call from OH, and he sounds great! Strong and feisty, just as we know him. Technically he is a "colon cancer survivor" b/c there were the beginnings of cell funkiness, but it was isolated & they believe they got it all. They haven't said as much, he expects he'll probably go home tomorrow.
Although they took part of his colon, they also gave him something in return; a newly-acquired intense fear of people wielding staple removers. Go figure. {For anyone who doesn't know Oldhounder, he deserves all the ribbing I could possibly dish out, and then some!}
As an aside, he said something odd. That if people read "double entendre" in anything he says, it is in their minds, not his. I don't even know what that means?!? It sounds French to me, and I've never heard him speak French. I guess that means it is not in my mind.

Must've been that French food . . . it's all John's fault . . . not mine!! Double entendre . . . not OldHounder, he is way to overt to be accused of such a thing! LOL
