St. Louis Area 'boxers unite!
Board: State: Missouri

Thread (disabled) Board
Folks within the greater St. Louis area (which could mean the whole state if you're not averse to driving!) are invited to join a new a group of local letterboxers called Gateway Letterboxers.
We are a group within the greater St. Louis area interested in encouraging letterboxing and promoting “Safety, Stealth, Leave No Trace”.
This group is not intended as a general chat board (as this is adequately covered by AQ) but rather for:
1) Notification of local events
2) Informing each other of new park regulations
3) Collaboration of series such as Famous St. Louisans, Metrolink and Favorite Businesses

The group will be hosted on Yahoo!Groups so that each person will be notified via regular email. You are not committing to anything by joining this group except to check your email now and then. If you already have a YahooID but would like to use your trailname instead, you can create an alternate profile under your original account.

There are already a number of items on the group website that you might find useful:
Files – Letterboxing Flyer that you can print for friends
Database – listing of all Famous St. Louisans that have already been “reserved” to carve
Links – plenty of letterboxing related links
We can also post photos and polls!

I hope that you will join us! Those of us who went to LB CON ’09 are really pumped and can’t wait to plant and find some more letterboxes and share what we learned with others!

MO, thanks again for doing this! I'm wondering if you should perhaps cross-post to the Illinois board, in case there's anyone just over the river who might be interested?

Thanks for taking the time to set up this group, I'll be joining momentarily. I have an idea for a "Famous St. Louisan" so I'll check out that list too.

This is great, but I'm not sure I'm smart enough to do this. How do I set up an alternate profile under my yahoo! account? Is that the same thing as an alias? And how do I make sure that my alternate profile is the one signed up for the group?

I didn't know how to do it either, but no worries...you can just join the group without an alternate profile. I just make sure to sign my trail name to my posts!

At the top, above the green bar, choose Edit Membership. Then under Yahoo!Profile you can make another one.
