't', did I see you at the Reflections awards last nite?

I saw her, but couldn't catch her. That's the way it is on the trail with her too, huh?!

I heard that 't' smeared blue camo paint on her face and waited in smurf village to surprise a Wolf yesterday. Waiting to hear about that . . . .

I was at a bridal shower yesterday morning when a clown called me. She had just talked to 't' and heard about the plan (well, minus the blue camo face paint, I embelleshed!). I laughed at the thought of 't' with blue grease paint skipping up on an unsuspecting Wolf singing La La La La La Laaa, La La La La Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Both of her daughters won in 2 different catagories!! What a couple of talented girls! But if you were there, Flip21, perhaps one of your kids also got an award?

Well, there is stuff to tell and I was surprised yesterday but some of those photos are with Dina and in light of her recent sad news I just haven't been up to going into that yet, and I know that she's not. You'll have to give us a little time.

The Smurf Village is getting over run with poison ivy!! Probably within a month about 1/2 the boxes there are going to be completely unreachable (some are really getting that way now). "t" said that the poison ivy could expect to triple in size throughout the summer and it's BIG NOW! Dina had to fish hers out of a bed of it and replant it. I'd also say that at least 1/2 the logbooks are full. Some of you that aren't poison ivy sensitive may want to do a maintenance run over there.

I am adding this note to my clue - might I suggest others do the same?

Yep, that was me and my crazy crew. Abbey won 1st place in dance for the state and Jenn in Art. It was fun! If any of you have facebook, you can jump on over there and be tortured by the 3 minutes video of Abbey doing her dance and various photos.
I am thinking the same thing Flip, which one of yours won what??? We still have our program, so we will look it up! You know, I remember briefly at one point thinking, "hmmm, she looks like some letterboxer I know..." But I as so nervous for Abbey doing her dance, I didn't think about much for long!
And yes that morning...we did pop in the smurf village on our way to getting Abbey's birthday shoes and then soccer. Whew, we had a busy day!

We (Electric and I) started out wanting to box, got to Mom2two's house where they had an electrical problem the night before. Electric gets put to work determining where the problem is, turned out that the neutral wire in the panel box was loose. Then on to m2t's computer which got infected with a nasty virus and after many attempts to fix, died. While Electric is working on m2t's computer, her mom walks in with a new wireless printer that I was put to work on getting it installed and connect to the wireless network in the house. What started out as a small visit turned into a 4 hour tour...(insert Gillian's Island music here).

I take off to work at 6:00 pm to bartend and Electric heads to Best Buy. Mom2two ended up with a new computer and Electric got parts to fix his also. I end up working 6 hours and no tips.

Still...you coulda called for lunch. Oh wait.....Charlie doesn't let you stop for lunch.

Have they cleared any of the trees or do you still have to climb over some of those? That was a lot of fun back in March when I was there. I don't think I would try that now though especially if there's lots of poison ivy because according to my dad all I have to do is look at it and I break out.

All they did was close the trail which was the area where most of the boxes were. We ignored the signs. I got a photo of Dina crawling through some of the trees.

So, no trees cleared-- just solved it by closing the trail.

I am thinking the same thing Flip, which one of yours won what???

My little tayleebug (Taylor) won 2nd in the primary visual arts(drawing) division. She won honorable mention at her school, but won 2nd in the entire state among K5, 1st & 2nd graders....go figure.
The theme for the contest was "WOW". Taylor drew a picture of herself in the pool learning to swim. Her WOW was...I did it!!

Congrats to your two. I had no idea yours was the "performer". 't' didn't make it clear to ya'll, but Abbey was chosen as part of the "entertainment" for the ceremony. What an honor!!!

Letterboxers children take 1st and 2nd place in the state, lol!
First the PTA then the WORLD, mwuhhahaha!!!!!

't'

PS- Jenna's pic was on the back of the program...the painting of the snake. Same with her, she won second in her school then 1st in state! I was a bit confused, but hey, we'll take it!

Finally back home and can post about the day at Smurf Village last Saturday.
We could not have ASKED for better weather to visit the SMURFS......... Bright, sunny and mild.

FA LA LA LA LA LA....................LA LA LA LA LAAAAAAAAAAAA

Mama Wolf said we couldn't sing as we were letterboxing in Smurf Village. There was even some mention of where she'd put her hiking stick. How RUDE !
(TeeHee)

We started out early ..... and aside from having some clues for boxes that had been retired between my printing them.... and us going in search of them....(OOPS, MY BAD). it was a successful day. None of us ended up with poison ivy... which was nothing short of a miracle. The whole village was COVERED with it. We needed 12 more SMURFS to complete our set and we got 8. 3 had been retired and the 4th we believe is missing in action. Mama Wolf got enough SMURFS to turn a few of her logbook pages BLUE ! T and her girls surprised us on the trail. They were on their way to shop for new shoes..... but took time to stop and harass ..... er..... I mean.... time to stop and chat with us a bit. They added even MORE laughter to our day !
Then we moved on.....we had lunch and did some boxing in and around Cleveland Park and even chased some rodents down the Main street in town ! Our last stop was McPherson Park for the ONE lonely letterbox there. (Chihuahua Grande's box there dissapeared!)

We headed for home ..... making a quick stop at McDonalds for a meal on our way out of town.

Pictures of our day at Smurf Village are here: (Thankfully "I" was the one with the camera.)

This one was not suitable to mix with the Smurfy pics...... it's somewhat of a bonus...... (in a disturbing seek therapy kind of way)

A fun day !
