Is your signature stamp vertical or horizontal or square/round?
I'm just thinking about making logbooks and the best orientation.

Mine is a horizontal rectangle...but I'm sure you'll find they come in all shapes and sizes!

I don't think it really matters if someone's stamp is vertical or horizontal b/c a finder can (and will) turn the logbook whichever way will fit their stamp best. And if you're thinking of planting a traditional box, chances are the pages may end up getting crowded and finders will squeeze in wherever there's room. I just think it's most important to make it wide enough to fit most stamps - it seems 2 inches would be about the smallest.

Mine is alomost a perfect square - about 1.25 inches.
Sometimes you can't help what size your logbook is - the container dictates a lot.

Well ours isn't really either;) It's diagonial. It a pennat so I usually only use it in postals that tend to have larger log books. I have 4 little piggies that we usually use out in the wild and those can be put anyway I want to:)
Good question:)

Mines a blob. So i guess its more oval than anything. Don't worry about orientation. Sometimes i put mine in upside down just to get noticed. LOL

We have a horizontal/rectangle-shaped sig stamp...we just turn the log book to fit the stamp...or I use my handy-dandy mini sig stamp.

Mine is square and technically has a correct verticle orientation but half the time I stamp it in upside-down. Not that anyone would know... :-)

Speaking of upside down, I carved a series of optical illusions that are 2 images in one stamp. Though about doing them as a postal then maybe a traditional...thoughts?

Our's is square - since it's a Sudoku board (about 3X3). For smaller log books, I have just been using one of the corner blocks.
Some day I will have enough carving skill to do a smaller sig stamp...

Is that an admission of your personality or your stamp style?

Mine is vertical, it is a parrot with my trail initials. But when a logbook is shaped odd or is too small, I have been known to only place the parrots head on there.

Mine is square; about 2x2".
But I have a smaller version of it for things like HH and some postals.

Which one? I'm not sure how many I actually have now! lol!
The current one on my profile is oval/horizontal, and I have the Material Girl one that's a bigger blob shape (and a mini of that one), and a mini round SHH... speaking of mini sig-stamps, I think everyone should have one for small logbooks. You would be amazed at how many times you will use a mini sig-stamp, once you have one you like.

I agree!
I carved one for the SHH's Just an Inch PLB Ring; but I've used it for alot of other boxes too!

I'll say! You were the first one at the Mini Meet, and almost done with your first (or was it second?) beer by the time we got there!!
Eidolon couldn't be bothered to show up... no-oo... HE had to go to Maine on his quest to catch up to Wanda...

I neither confirm nor deny that, I was just inquiring about her profession of squareness. ::grin::
Sounds like a lush to me!!!
umm, yeah, I am SSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO striving for that... at this pace, assuming Wanda stops today, it would only take me about 10 years!!!

Everyone in my family has a square sig stamp about 2x2 so that we can fit everyone's on one page when stamping in.
If we find a full logbook, a micro LB or HH, we also have a little oval with our family trail name on it.
