ok...
I must have missed the thread with everybody oo-ing and ahhh-ing over postals.
I wanna see who is carving what! is there one particular thread?

and as far as this challenge goes...
what if we decide it is NOT our best and don't have time for another...
can we drop out instead of submitting something not so good?

Oh I would love to sign up for this one.... I would like to have my stamps improve. So I would like to be pushed to doing my best, but with prior commitments and being a newbie carver I just don't think I could have this done within two weeks. Wow , I am sorry I am missing this one :o(

I'm a newbie but I'll give it a try. There's an image I want to carve that would be perfect for this...since it's difficult (at least for me).

Yikes! How intimidating...but I love a challenge.

That's the spirit! Push yourself, try something a little out of your comfort zone - you may be pleasantly surprised!

Dropping out if you don't like it? No way. *shaking head*

I encourage all newbies to stretch a little and give it a shot!

I'm excited to give a go at my "best" stamp & logbook, and even more excited to see great work from others.

So, about the theme...anybody else have a list of things to do before they...well, you know...? I've got at least 30 things I'd love to do in my lifetime. What if everyone carves a stamp respresenting something they'd like to experience or accomplish?

Just a thought...but I'm really up for whatever.

Can't wait!

The best stamp and logbook I've ever done just went out in the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' plb ring:D

And even though I'm quite proud of it, it still doesn't hold a candle to some of the other work I've seen you all do. (Well okay, maybe the logbook comes close, if you don't mind me blowing my own horn for a minute;D)

I do love a challenge though, and if it weren't for vacation, I'd be very tempted to give it a try.
I'm sure I'll be very disappointed that I'm not going to see these wonderful plbs.
Maybe you could all send them out as singles once this ring is finished:)

Oh well , Thank you ... I appreciate you saying that , though I must admit it is proabably the best stamp I have done. One of the ones where I used the lines instead of the outside image only. Sorry I get the positive and negatives mixed up. Anyway, I am always amazed at some of the great stamps I am getting in the postals rings. I am pretty good at logbooks for the most part, with a scarbbooking background , but am still practicing on my carving. I know we are our own best critic, but I will keep sending out postals and keep on keeping on because I know we all have to start somewhere, and those people who do fantasic carves we me not so long ago. *smiles*

Is there a size restriction on this? Just wondering...not that I'm going to carve a monster stamp...but the image I'm thinking of should probably be a little larger than average, I think.

Thanks,

I do better when I either already have an idea in mind or I have some sort of perameter to work with (plus I have, oh five postals to mail tomorrow that I haven't started yet :D), otherwise I'd totally be in. However, I think it might be fun to have a ring with people's best stamps that they've sent out in previous rings. What do you all think? :)

I just looked and there was one spot left...I had to push my chair back from the desk to keep my fingers from the keyboard and hitting sign up for the tracker--problem is I have 3 postals starting tomorrow and 2 more in 2 weeks...plus the 3 that are still going on...how sad I am!!! Challenge me another time and I'm there!!

Hey all of you worried about being amateur or such, remember that its about doing the best you can do. I bet you dollars to donuts that everyone receiving will be delighted to receive your plb!

What's the line Auntie Em tells one of the farmhands about feeding the hogs before they worry themselves into anemia. Just change it up slightly about how we're all going to enjoy your postals, so stop worrying yourselves...

not to call anyone a pig.

eeehhhh, I better shut up

Is there any way to be a recipient of these carvings without being a carver?

Ok, I'm half-way done with my stamp (I just got my first order of PZ Kut and I just HAD to use it right away!). So far it's turning out pretty good, but I hope that people's idea of "best" doesn't mean it has to be complicated. Mine is a very simple design, although I think the whole presentation with the logbook will spice it up.

AAaahhh, this is a little nerve-racking when I don't know what I'm up against. If you're in this ring, please be gentle! :)

Keep an eye out for when the ring is retired. Some people send theirs out as a single afterwards to fill up the logbook and you can always email someone once they have it reurned and ask them to send it to you.
