Gauging Unique Event Interest

It's been almost 7? years since I held my first event and I'm itching to host another.
What I have in store will be something very different. It will not be like the typical letterboxing event. I don't want to spoil too much right now so here are some basic details. I wanted to see how many people would be interested in going so I can find the right accommodations..
It will either take place in December 2019 or January 2020.
It will be indoors.
It will be hosted in the Cincinnati, OH/Newport, KY area.
It would require ordering tickets to attend.
You would have to arrive on time to participate, it will not be a "come and go" type of event.
The event itself may only be 3-4 hours long tops.
It would be catered.
Tickets could cost between $40-$60/person and this is mainly based on time of day and meal plan.
It would require formalish dress.
Cash bar can be available, open bar if everyone wants to pay another $30 a person.
Will probably not be suitable for small children. (either 13+ or 18+)

So, would you be interested? Hit the "Interesting" button to show your interest. I can try to answer some questions but I don't want to give too much away right now. ;)

Most definitely interested.

And my vote would be January. Something to look forward to after the holidays.

"formalish dress" and large amounts of ink could get interesting...

This does not sound like an event I'd be interested in attending. I prefer boxes in the woods and have no interest in table-top boxes.

If it was in my area, we'd be going. I have lots of fun scenarios that would fall into your 'hints' that we would enjoy. Ink and 'formal' does make me a bit nervous.

As I said, I don't want to give too much away yet. There would definitely be a dress requirement nicer that jeans and a T-shirt. It's hard to describe without giving it away! But I think with what I have planned it could be doable.

I fall firmly into the "it depends" camp.

I am definitely intrigued. My attendance would depend on date, cost and of course what the actual event would entail. I have lots of possibilities swirling in my head and bet that none of them are accurate!

FWIW, I'd stick with cash bar if you want alcohol available. Keeps the cost down and caters to most that way.

And I second the suggestion to consider January to avoid conflicts with the holidays.

I definitely dont want to do the open bar due to cost but I wanted to let everyone know it's an option. I'm definitely leaning towards January as I graduate December 2019.

Wish I was closer because I would love to attend. In 2012, I hosted an Adult Prom letterboxing event. We were able to do it at a local wine/martini bar at no rental cost because we agreed that the bar would remain open to the public. My only cost was that I hired a DJ. We all dressed in formal attire. The theme was Midnight Masquerade and folks created and wore their own masks. We hid boxes around the venue, as well as tabletop boxes. It also served as a surprise 40th birthday party for ATVRacer. If folks are worried about ink and formal attire, just wear darker colors. I think everyone had a fantastic time, we even had a prom King and Queen.

It's far away in the winter months...

Spring, summer, or fall, it's an excursion!
