An unusual hiking partner

I was on a busy trail in a state park yesterday and saw something I'd never seen before. A man was hiking with a parrot perched on his finger. Odd enough, but more surprising was that he had this on his back. https://www.amazon.com/Petsfit-Style-Carrier-Stainless-Cleaning/dp/B0714KS7LP/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1536033371&sr=8-2&keywords=bird+backpack+carrier Who knew something like this existed?

Looks like a knockoff to the Celltei Pak-O-Bird.

It's OK -- you can say it, we bird people are nuts! :)

The backpack is a safe way to bring the feathered kids places. Harnesses are fine and dandy, but colorful birds make easy targets for hawks.

I thought it was nice that the bird got out of the house. :) I just never thought much about how you would travel with one. And I didn't think about the hawks until now. That would definitely make the hike memorable! Yikes!
