I was looking at the path tag site yesterday and suggested they add a tag back design for letterboxing. Someone asked if I had anything specific in mind... so any suggestions on what the design should be?

I think a hiking boot print would be a good graphic. Other ideas or thoughts on the text?

I agree! But not the hiking boot. A stamp and logbook, which is specific to letterboxing. I would get that on the back of my pathtags and would love to see it on the back of someone else's tags.

Hi Peachfaced! Thanks for responding on the pathtag forum. I like the idea of a logbook with a stamp, but I haven't found any graphics that we could use as is...it needs some design work.

any idea what the process is for getting a new tag back implemented? If it's based on volume we may have an issue. Even regional geocaching groups probably outnumber us on pathtag designs.

Good question. For clubs tag backs, they prefer to have 15+ members. So perhaps if we have at least 15 folks interested in producing a tag and intend to use that tag back, it'll be ok? OR, perhaps if that's not possible, it could be a "give back" (paid) tag back.

2015 post from Mike: "If you are running a club with 15+ participants, we are making custom tag backs now for clubs that meet that requirement. The club leader should contact support with a design to start the process. We'll do the tag back at no cost to the leader or the club members and then the leader will be set as the tagback owner and will be allowed to grant permission to club members to use the back."

Well, I guess there isn't enough interest, so I'm going to drop this for now.

How much does it generally cost to have a custom back on a pathtag? I’m thinking about ordering 250 mile treasure hiker tags for CT—if cost was minimal, I’d consider adding it. Maybe other states doing pathtags would be interested as well?

Not sure of the cost, but I'll buy some of those tags.
