I think I broke enough spider webs today with my FACE while out hiking and hunting that I think I'm good for the rest of my life, really .... Just call me Gwen Stefani (I've been singing Spiderwebs ever since this morning).

♫ "Sorry I'm not home right now I'm walking into spiderwebs, leave a message and I'll call you back!" ♫

OMG! I hate that feeling!!! I'm terrified of spiders! Once when I was out letterboxing alone, I had to walk about 30 feet into the woods from the trail. I walked through a spiderweb and instantly panicked, spinning around, flailing my arms in case of spiders. I lost my sense of direction and wasn't sure how to get back to the trail. There was more brush than trees, so I was confident that I could see the trail if someone went by, but no one did. I finally guessed which direction to go, and came out at a different angle than I went in. Whew!

But ALL of the best boxes are outside. Can't we entice you outside to find them?

. . . and how do you get all them off of you? Alcohol? I'll sit in my car thank you, just bring the box to me. Snakes - hate, spiders- hate, ticks - really really hate.

When I'm worried about spider webs, I just get a stick and wave it in front of me as I hike. It seems to work.

When I got back to the car, I rubbed hand sanitizer everywhere and showered as soon as I got home. My husband and I have been rubbing on essential oils and pulling them off.

(In my best Groucho voice...)
What a tick nest was doing boxing, I'll never know...

That's a good idea, and I could do that if I were walking unhindered. But, I had a tugging dog, who was blazing the trail. Unfortunately, she's shorter than me and didn't break the webs, she left them for my face. ;)

Oh my gosh, the horror! I was on a LB trip this week, and feel the same about the spider webs. Ran in to one at every turn. I suppose it was worth it though!!

How you get them all out....so if you have to many tiny ticks to count you might try shaving them off, it will get lots of them out completely and the ones it only killed a little will itchy like crazy so you know where to apply tweezers.

What does a tick nest look like?--I NEVER want to see one in real life. Terrified of ticks. I found one on my shoulder after the last Indiana event. The scab is gone but my shoulder still itches. My kids keep telling me I need to get checked for lime disease.

Google it. I had never heard of a "nest" so that's what I did. Lots of pictures. Of course after looking at them you may never go in the woods again.

The whole checking for ticks thing after boxing has gotten to really be a huge drag after all these years but what can you do? I am really sick of it.

But I have never encountered or seen a "nest".

I didn't actually see a nest. I climbed over a log and noticed the ticks. This happened from time to time at GS camp when I was a kid and they said "you walked through a nest".

When I get bit by a tick they seem to itch forever.

I'm pretty sure I stumbled thru a nest today...I got a million tiny ticks any way. those particular boxes will have to wait for winter, and now I know how fast I can get down stone mountain. Much faster than I would have expected.
