Hello! I am planning on going to Vegas at the end of August and hoping to plant a box while I am there. I am wondering if anyone knows of good spots on the strip to plant it I will only be there for 3 days not even, and only on the end of Mandalay Bay...also if there are any locals that would be willing to maintain / check it if any issues arrive? Please let me know thanks!

Not wanting to discourage you, but it looks like this will be your first plant. Having looked for boxes on the Las Vegas strip, I can tell you that it would take a small, very cleverly-disguised box, to survive the crowds, as well as the grounds keepers, at the various casinos. The odds aren’t in your favor in that environment, and even a ‘seasoned boxer’ would find it a challenge to plant a box that lasted through more than a finder or two. Maybe you will discover an out-of-the-way spot where it is well-hidden. Good luck!!

Thanks! I don’t have a lot of time in Vegas so I won’t be able to make it out of the casino. Maybe I’ll make it a one time thing where people will have to meet me I’ll be there for an event.

Don't forget all the cameras watching!

I NEVER go to the strip to letterbox. Well, I don't actually box much anymore, just carve. But still, never liked having to be so stealthy. And they always go missing.

I am one of the strange ones who regularly put boxes on the Strip :). Nearly all of them disappear at some point, which I expect them to do and am fine with it, but some do last for a while. Putting boxes, typically small ones, under things (magnetic boxes underneath newspaper stands, tiny painted boxes under rocks in a casino display, or pouches under a brick in a walkway in the back of a garden display as examples) can help them last. When planting, think: who might clean this area and how might they do so in a manner the box is found? Cameras are a different story...they are everywhere, so clues that give seekers ideas of how to act to mask their search can help. My Lady Liberty box asked people to fake dropping keys while retrieving the box.
The Strip asks planters and finders to have some openness to courage and risk taking, but as has been said often...not all boxes are for everyone.
If you want a challenge...find my contact lens sized box hidden in the middle of a casino thirty feet from security - it is still there after many years 😀

One of these days I’ll be brave and go looking for your series. Lady Liberty was beautiful so I know it will be worth it :)

A new series will be planted on the Strip in late September. This series, once planted, will give info away as to what my trips to Vegas typically look like. 😀

Do you live in Vegas or visit there often? I’m wondering if maybe you could help me either plant it or help maintain it or help figure out where to plant it I’ll be at MB!

I only visit on my nearly annual trip with my dad for college football watching/gambling/beer drinking :)

If I remember Mandalay Bay, there are some less than manicured bushes around the complex. You could aim to create a hanging letterbox/pouch (there or tutorials to make these somewhere on Altasquest boards) that would stay within a bush (not on the ground or exterior top or sides of the foliage) that may avoid trimming and be findable for seekers. Either that or think magnetic and small to put it under lamppost bases or metal benches (a bit harder to do while planning from afar for correct size and shape than a pouch/small box for a bush).

I agree with Foraych .... most boxes on the Vegas Strip don't last very long.
One of my plants is still active ;)
