June is Elder/Dependent Adult Abuse Awareness Month but June 15th is International Elder Abuse Awareness Day.
Purple Ribbons for Elder Abuse Awareness.

If you suspect or know of anyone being a victim of elder or dependent adult, please report it. They say 1 in 10 elder abuse related crime gets reported. 1 in 10.
There is a terrible misconception that elder abuse is a family issue.
It's not.
It's a crime.
Also, unless what you report goes to trial, in California at least, you will remain anonymous. But trust me, if what you reported actually goes to trial, then you did the right thing. Or you can call from a withheld number and state that you wish to remain anonymous. It can make it harder for the social worker but at least it's a start in the right direction.
