We still need some stamps carved for the Come Fly a Kite event the end of July.

https://www.atlasquest.com/showinfo.html?eventId=3877

Looking for some kite stamps. The image can be inside the kite if that is easier. Please let us know if you are interested. Will need these by the beginning of July.

We will also have raffles, anyone that would like to donate please feel free.

Will try to carve it before Wakeda. If plans fall correctly I will be attending that event the end of the month. If done I will bring it to save postage.

Would anyone like to be my buddy for the day and show me the ropes? I know there is a lot of stuff to try to accomplish in a little time, by the sounds. I need some guidance as to how to get the most out of my first event! :)

Check here:

I would add that in order to get the most out of your first event, do NOT try to get everything out of your first event. Relax, kick-back and chill. I'd prioritize exchanges and traditional letterboxes and put off doing event boxes and personal travelers. With the exception of the main event box, of course. That might should be the first box to get.

Exchange signature stamps with other letterboxers: One of the other fun things about letterboxing is exchanging stamps with other people. These count as X in your PFX-count. There will be tons of folks whom you only know by their signature stamp or trail name on the message boards and websites. Just walk up and introduce yourself. Within minutes, you'll be sitting at a table with other people stamping into each others' logbooks and talking about the trail!

Here's mine: https://www.atlasquest.com/people/logbook.html?memberId=28089&action=exchanges&type=traditional&sort=newest

It's a bit sad because some of those people have died--but in a sense, when I look at their signature stamp, there they are.

Bassett mom....come to the event...we will help and guide you. Lots of Maine boxers are going to be their and are always willing to help and exchange trail stamps... there will be plenty of boxers to help and stamp with. It’s a pretty relaxed event

Does that just mean we stamp our signature stamp in the other person's book??

Yes, but there is more. They also stamp their signature stamps into your book.

Yes, you stamp in each others book and connect a name/face with a sig stamp you may see on the trails. However, with my memory, I have been known to ask to do an exchange with someone I have already exchanged with. duh...
