Lover's Key State Park

Good morning!
I'm planning a trip to Sanibel next month, and was going to do a day with Biff over on Lover's Key at the state park. They have geocaching there, and I notice there are no letterboxes in the park... coincidence, or are there so many that boxes would be geotrashed? We were thinking about planting a small series. Thoughts?

Go for it! But get in contact with either the Assistant Park Manager, Manager, or Park Services Specialist first. The FL Park Service is cool with letterboxing and geocaching, and even advertise it on the website, but do ask to be informed about where boxes go. I find once you explain to them what it is, they're very receptive to the idea, especially since there is an official park service geocache in several state parks that is maintained by the park.

We had one there many years ago. It was hidden in a BIG piece of driftwood, really a huge root. They were all over the beach and very interesting to look at. They were not good for the beach area and were all removed. Another letterboxer just happened to be in the area and rescued our box minutes before our hiding spot was going to be chopped. We have the stamp still but haven't been down that way to replace it.

We did let the park know and gave them a copy of the clue.
