What a fun trip! We keep meaning to explore more of Highway 1 and 101.

Some of our favorite coastal boxes near the Bay Area are:

Bay Area Tidepool Creatures is at J V Fitzgerald Marine Reserve in Half Moon Bay. Cool location with sun-bathing seals and interesting tidepools.

Sea Cruise also has quite a few drive-by boxes between Santa Cruz and San Francisco.

We're also partial to our own Elizabeth & Darcy. :-)

Unfortunately a few of my tidepool creatures have gone missing.....Wendy and I love Sea Cruise and, of course, Elizabeth and Darcy!!!

Treats in the Fog = 24055 (Aptos just south of Santa Cruz)
Jaybirders Birds = 250696 and 250700 (Morgan Hill in the South Bay)

not too far from that I'd by happy to give you the clues to my Bayeux Tapestry series = 251359

In SF I'd strongly recommend any of the ones in Golden Gate Park but also anything by Gremlands.

If you'd like to start a bit further south, stop in Los Osos and pick up anything by Dark Zen and Evil Cow Pie......

Thanks everyone for the suggestions :-) nature hikers don’t you have some boxes up there as well?
We are indeed headed to los Osos For one night of camping along the way so that we can box in the area in the afternoon we get there and the morning before we head up to the redwoods so definitely going to grab some of DZECP boxes ! People don’t be afraid to offer up your own boxes in the areas as well !
Id love the clues to the bayeux tapestry series !

Hello Ms. Brailleboxer...

You know I don't live up there, but since my daughter goes to USF...I try to visit at least twice a year and with limited time for boxing I have found these to be AMAZING boxes:

The Man Who Fell to Earth series #265023...Mt. Davidson Park has such wonderful views of SF bay and surrounding cities. It's a nice park to have the dogs with you too.

Harry Potter (Book 2) #269215...if you're a Potter fan...you'll LOVE these carves & the surprise on the trail! :) Not sure about bringing the dogs on this one...remember there being poison oak around. Beautiful trail :)

And if you're heading north across the Golden Gate Bridge, then S is for Sea Lion #239347 is a must. One of my favorite things about this hobby is the places we visit because someone planted a box there. This one is a don't miss.

Food:
Cinderella Bakery & Cafe , 436 Balboa St, San Fran...Russian bakery...YUM!!

Mescolanza Restaurant, 3750 Geary Blvd. San Fran...Italian: Linguine Al Limone or Linguine Alla Carbonara...ask for chicken in it..HEAVEN!!

Aux Delices Vietnamese Restaurant, 2327 Polk St, San Fran :)

ANYWAY....Have a fun trip!
Happy Boxing...CherryonTop

If you get a chance, near Santa Cruz is a fun place. The Happy Dancing Chickens box is, sadly, gone, but the place is like nothing you have ever seen! Very charming and creative! Be prepared to buy some fresh eggs...

Love love love all of the suggestions all of you ! Keep them coming !
The happy dancing chickens is on my list ! I must say this box even though it is not there probably almost excites me the most aside from the ice cream store :-) .... I can’t wait for my trip now !
