North Louisiana Boxers

Letterboxes seem to be scarce in north Louisiana, except maybe in Shreveport. I know of three boxers in north Louisiana and we are trying to build up the number of boxes in the area. Are there any other boxers in the area who would like to join in and make that a goal of north Louisiana boxers?

My DIL StarryEyed lives in Shreveport, but she hasn't logged into AQ since 2011. In fact, I had to look at my AQ mail contacts to remember what her trail name was.....

I was wondering about her the other day. We met at Jbanana's event back in...sometime or another. Isn't she Cowboy J and Mouse Man's mom? I took my cousin to Cowboy J's box Quick! Make a Wish a month or so ago. She's a newbie. It's still there, but needs a new box. Bet those boys are grown by now. Jbanana moved to Arkansas, but we will both be at Tale 13 along with grandchildren-mine, not hers. I'm looking forward to seeing you.

For several years, I hosted an event I called TALKK (letters represented different phrases each year).

I've not carved a stamp in a couple of years and would love to get back into carving and letterboxing again, though.

I don't think I'd be free to host an event until this fall, but I'd like to know if those from the northern part of the state would be interested in coming if I did.

In the past, I've held the event in the Jackson/St. Francisville area.

I hope to do extensive box maintenance late this spring and plant a few more that have been sitting here at home.

Thoughts?

Hello, Mama Cache! Jbanana and I came to one of your events and had a good time. Unless something unforeseen comes up, I'd come to the event. Jbanana has moved to Arkansas, so I can't say for her, but I'll ask her. At the moment, there are three boxers that are active. Keep us posted.

I live in Southeast Texas and would be interested in an event in Southern LA.

I agree with BlueButterfly. There is a small group of letterboxers in the Mandeville, La. to Picayune, Ms. area that would love to put together a meet and greet. Can I get some feedback on those near us that would be interested?

I hope you are keeping your feet dry down there. Flooding looks horrible.

Lots of rain and still falling, Acorns4u! Schools are closed in this parish (county) and several surrounding it. Roads closed all over this parish and the ones around it. We were trying to figure out how to get to church this evening. A couple of roads on our usual route/s are closed. So far we've had 7 inches of rain since yesterday and the weather service is predicting 12. Our house is in a low area and the yard has water standing, but no where near the house. Dogs are evacuated to the porch. At the moment we are dry and not expecting any trouble at our house. The news is showing some residences flooded in other parishes. Prayers for these people would be appreciated. Thanks for thinking about us.

Our house is not in any danger, but the surrounding towns and parishes have had a lot of damage. I hope these links work. You may have to cut and paste the link.

Schools are closed and government offices are closed. People have been told to stay home and off the road. Evacuations are beginning in some areas.

My daughter and grandsons are being evacuated now. It is so hard to be so far away. Please pray for everyone in this mess.
