I would like to know
Board: Personal Travelers

I keep seeing boxers talk about Personal Travelers or PT's.

What exactly is a PT and how are they found.

PLEASE HELP!

Love,

They are special stamps that a boxer carries with them and brings to events. Sometimes they are oversized stamps that would not work well in a traditional letterbox. Some people make you solve clues or do funny things to earn the right to stamp them; but, a lot of people love to share them just because you asked for them. :)

FroggyGirl9:
It's a stamp you carry with you in addition to your signature stamp. Those that want to stamp it in must meet some condition you choose. Check out the glossary under the Home Menu and go to "P". This will explain it better than I can.

You can just ask for mine if you meet me. :) I have questions you can answer to get them but I don't make people do it. They can be good conversation pieces, sometimes based on something personal about that person. Then you stamp them in your book, and log them online.

Generally, the question is listed under the clue section of the personal traveller. So if you go to an event, it makes sense to print the list from the event page, and write down all the answers. Unless you're me, and don't usually bother. :)

If you can make it to this event, you can get lots of PTs:

I saw that event and was interested but I have know knowledge of events.

Like what I have to do or bring to be part of it. But I do hope to get into them. They seem like a blast and a great way to meet fellow letterboxers :)

You don't have to do or bring anything special. It's fine if you don't have a personal traveler, and camping isn't mandatory. SoCal boxers are a friendly group! = )

This is great! Thanks for posting this question so I didn't have to. :)

I guess I need to start carving because I have an event to go to tomorrow night!

Sounds like Travelers are fun!
Question: Do we carve our own and call it a traveler and log it on AQ?

You don't have to carve your own. One of mine is a store bought stamp given to me that has a great story behind it.
