Does anyone have any tips for boxing the Coast to Coast or want to meet up along the way some time in the next month?

no, but if you get some, pass them along. i'm busy plotting out where we're going to stay. i hear the yurts at Keld Camping Barn are not to be missed. . .

Also you should go to Lordstones. it's in North Yorkshire - Carlton Bank. i hear the food is yummy.

Not sure how to quote previous posts, but this one was posted by Wild Women & Lily in April that should help re coast to coast walk and boxing

"Hi Tiggermama
If you are walking from west to east then you will be passing nearish to as may boxes as you will have time to find on the north yorks moors towards the end of your route. I am not sure of your exact route but the Ingleby Cross to Robin Hoods Bay section will give you many boxing opportunities.
These I think (depending on exact route) will be the nearest, Urra Moor you may find Summit, Drum, Stoney & Chuffa these are NYM boxes no 211-214.At Giilammor you may pass Mushroom Mania No2. Rosedale is a really popular boxing area and I think your route may go along the old railway track in which case don't miss Yorkshire Rose of Rosedale, Chimney Bank Box, Only the best, Border Collie, Moor Activities-walking, Champion Letterboxer & of course Atlas Quest Box. At Stokesley look out for Tarkas Travels, At Cod Beck look out for Cod , National Parks Peak District & Lake District.
And lastly at Robin Hoods Bay there is a box of that name.
If you have time and collect 101 stamps you will be eligible for a 101 Yorkshire Letterboxing badge.
Hope this helps & good luck."

we're staying at Chop Gate, turns out!! AND it also turns out we're starting in Robin's Hood Bay. (Wouldn't you know the Yanks do things backwards; we never have been good at following directions). Actually it has to do with Mr. Umbrella's bad knees and giving him time to get in shape before we hit Kidsty Pike. We're leaving the Lakes for last.

i have that post bookmarked. Are all those boxes listed on AQ? or are they listed somewhere i just don't know how to look them up?? i was just gonna rummage a bit, sort of Dartmoor style, but that might be rude??

And we're coming end of next August. In case you wanted to know. . .

Looks like you will have lots of boxing opportunities.
Most of the boxes mentioned are on AQ, some are over 10 years old, but still ok.
Some are listed on NYM clues list, I will check with the owner and send you the link if possible.

Is there any chance you could let me have the link too? Yorkshire Tortoise sent it to me years ago but I lost it when my old computer died.

I'm hoping to spend a week around Thirsk and Ripon next summer and would like to get some more NYM boxes.
