Packing for a trip...

So I'm packing for a trip to visit my hometown. My brother boxes and we have plans to box together and I'm bringing some stamps to plant together, too.

Our flight leaves tomorrow afternoon. So far I have put a hold on my mail (so my mailbox isn't full of postals and LTCs while I'm gone). Typed out instructions for my dog sitter. Packed my letterboxing bag, stamps to hide, extra duct tape, baggies, logbooks, and copies of LTCs to give my brother.

Yes, in that order.
No clothes or toiletries have been packed yet.
I think I have my priorities straight?

Shout out to boxers in Tucson- be on the look out for a few new stamps in your area this week. :)

Sounds right. You'll need your toiletries tomorrow morning and how long does it take to throw some clothes in a suitcase, after all?

Sounds about right to me. You can always box without underwear, but you gotta have the rest of it, especially your presents to the locals.

Boxerless boxing, but not boxless boxing.

I ALWAYS get my LBing stuff ready first. After all, you can always stop and buy anything you forget. But a new LOGBOOK, letterboxing supplies, signature stamp, and printed CLUES? NO way!!

Have a great trip!!

You have a good point there.

Yes, exactly! Though I am visiting a large town so I COULD get a new log book. but the rest- no.

And actually this is one of the few trips in a LONG LONG time I haven't printed clues. I put my brother in charge of that because I know there's some he's wanted to find but didn't have a hiking partner for, and some he's found already that are his favorites he'll take me to. Plus one I couldn't find last time I visited, that he found like a week later when he re-read the clues and tried again. So I told him to put together a list and take me. Feels weird, but kind of nice not to have to do that work! :)

A stop at the drugstore off the plane will take care of that. First things first!

But a new LOGBOOK

And, don't ever check your logbook in your luggage, on the same principle. You can replace your clothes, shoes, and makeup, but your logbook cannot be replaced so easily. Ever since a letterboxer in my area had his luggage lost by an airline, my logbook has travelled in my carry-on bag.

The luggage in this instance was eventually found and returned some time later, but better safe than sorry!

Ohh good point. I had jewelry stolen from checked bags before. Surely airline staff aren't interested in my logbook... ;) I think I might go put that in my backpack now just in case....

Also- So I had an idea for a stamp that would be fun to bring and plant....and I may or may not have started carving it at 1am last night. Then this morning I actually packed, and while waiting for the dryer to finish with my last bit of clothing.... I also carved a HH.....

I'll sleep on the plane.

we are going to Grateful Letterboxing in Andover, MA for 10 days, in our camper. we leave in 2 days. one would think i would have planned meals, gathered meds, packed camping supplies, etc. No.

the only meal i've planned is the one on Wednesday for 30 people. they're kinda expecting it.

what is currently in the camper (that doesn't normally live there):
LTC's to trade, my letterboxing bag, boots, all the nightboxing stamps and seriously cool series plant stuff, the other series i'm planting at our campsite, every clue in Harold Parker State Forest i haven't gotten yet (2 years' worth of event - y'all have been busy ;-), extra MA mystery clues i solved over the last 3 years, and clues for the place we're staying *before* the event.

yeah. i'm addicted.

My husband laughed at me when I packed my entire wedding ensemble, and my matron of honor's dress (as well as my logbook and sig stamp.... markers and ink went in the suitcase), in my carry on. I told him that I was NOT losing my wedding dress in the dark abyss of lost luggage just a few days before my wedding in CA!
