After a little experimentation, I discovered that the punch made by the Marvy circle craft punch, mega size, fits perfectly in the lock'n'lock round 3 oz. You can get two punches from a 4x6 index card. Yoohooo!

1/2 hour later --

This takes less time and energy than my rectangular logbooks! Punched out maybe 36 circles and 2 pieces of sticky-back foam. Backed foam with paper. Punched a hole through all pieces with a 3-hole punch. Lined up all the holes and threaded a scrapbook post through all. Screw tight and wa-lah!

Ok, wait I haven't "met" one of these yet but have ideas for non standard books.

Is it like the first one on this page?

Yep - got mine at Michaels with a coupon - I think they are about $13-15??

I have a Sizzix that I love, and I've used some of the dies for several logbooks, but the only circle die I have is 4 inches - way too big for the little L&L's.

You can also get those templates, and I think there's a gizmo that cuts around the template - I've seen them at craft stores, but not investigated thoroughly.

Mama Fox - on a craft store diet til I pay some bills down, as I have absolutely no self control.....

Oooooh thanks! And that reminds me, $15 is just about what I have left on the Michaals gift card Santa got me.....(It's not a craft diet if it's someone else $$$ right?)

<Lined up all the holes and threaded a scrapbook post through all.>

Where do you get the "scrapbook post". I looked at Micheals yesterday, mainly near the scrapbooks, but no luck. Thanks!

A.C. Moore. In my store they were hanging on a hook rack near the regular post scrapbooks. 4 to a pack, but I forget the price. If you can't find them, ask someone for scrapbook extenders. Likely the posts and extenders will be right there together.

Oh, is that a craft store, or scrapbook store? I never heard of it. We have 2 scrapbook stores here, so I'm sure I 'll find them. How many do you use in a round logbook?
Thanks a lot!

AC Moore is a big box craft store, like Michaels. Hobby Lobby might have them, but someone else will have to confirm that for me.

One hole, one post -- foam makes for more stable covers, and less pages makes it a little loose so that the pages pivot on the post without the screw working loose.

Quote I discovered that the punch made by the Marvy circle craft punch

Years ago my mother made hand pierced lampshades. I now have some of her punches, which resemble pencils with a pointy end, and they are really good for making small holes for mini logbooks. I have two sizes of these punches, but am sure they make other larger sizes also. I will hunt the Internet and see if I can find any links to them.

Here is a website that has the two piercers that I have. If you click on the link, then go to tools on the righthand side of the page and then go to the second page of tools, it will be in the second row. What do you think about the transfer paper they have on here? Have any of you tried this brand or type?

I have a piercer like that -- it came with a scrapbooking tool set from Making Memories.

I've tried transfer paper, not that brand. It didn't work for me on PZ Cut, but I'm no expert on transferring anything.

I posted an earlier message about using a quilling tool (under $3 at Hobby Lobby without the coupon) for making holes in logbooks. It's near the scrapbooking embellishments. Looking at the lampshop piercer, I know I have one of those that came in my pottery tools kit, but it is a bit fatter than a quilling tool.

You can also get the posts at the hardware store....unfortunately I can't remember what they are called but they are usually in those little drawers that most stores have with the screws and bolts and such.
