Board: Stamp Carving and Mounting

I once talked with someone about mounting stamps on laminate, similar to the chips you might find on a ring at a home improvement store to serve as samples for stuff like wood finishes, cabinet colors, and whatnot. Has anybody ever worked with this sort of material? Where did you get it?

Make sure you put a piece of foam in between the laminate and stamp. Tough to get a good impression without it.

I, personally, haven't tried mounting on laminate... but I have mounted my stamps on a piece of balsa wood I got at Michaels. They're usually sold in one long piece and you can cut them down to the size that you need. I would encourage you to get the foam and put it between your stamp and whatever it is that you are mounting your stamp too... you tend to get a better impression when you put the foam in between the stamp and the thing you are mounting the stamp to. When I use the blasa wood, I buy the wood glue to glue it all together.... including the stamp.

Good luck!! :) Hope that all made sense... :)
