Where's a good location to have some letterboxers get together in order to sit around, carve some stamps, talk... Not like an official gathering, but a mini one. Probably a meeting room of some sort... HRm. Hotel? Library?

There's one on Saturday at a pizza place in Dayton. Look at the "Upcoming Events" section on the right - I think it's the 3rd one down. It would be a good example for you.

That must be a huge pizza place...with good lighting? Hrm. Plus there are 47 people coming. That seems like a lot.

I'll have to think of a big place. It seems like "Mini" meets are about 50 people... So... 10 big tables of 5 people each carving away... Hrm...

Thanks for the suggestion of looking at current event listings. That helps. :)

How about checking with local schools? Maybe you could use their gym or cafeteria.

Oops - I don't believe we're carving on Saturday. Sorry for the misdirection.

Maybe you could ask a craft store, like Joann's, if you could use the room they use for workshops and classes. I'm sure the lighting would be good with plenty of seating and tables.

A library is often a good choice - many have meeting rooms you can borrow or rent for a nominal fee. You might also try community centers or city/town halls or churches.

What about your church or synagogue (if you belong to one)? Or the YMCA? Community Center?

Some parks have lodges & cabins, perhaps that may be worth checking out. Especially if the park also features LBs to be found.

Come on over to my place! *GRIN* We've had a good week so far. Sixstars and Sixrabids have both been over to carve (Sixstars has been over Mon, Tues, AND Wed...fun, teasing, and laughter had by all!). Boxing with Lighting the Way and JESSNh tomorrow. Doesn't get any better than this! *GRIN*

Lots of good suggestions already; we have been to gatherings or mini-meets in city parks, libraries, community centers, and a couple of times in a restaurant or coffee shop! (This works best for 10 or less usually, unless the restaurant has a separate room for larger groups.)
