Go to the page to edit your location, then click to edit the custom location.

On the custom location page, enter the latitude and longitude coordinates of the Carpenter Road ski trails.

I can't get google to give me the lat and long. It still won't change the map even when I change the name of the town. I don't have a GPS, so I am stuck as to what to do.

Find the location on your map then right click on the map and choose "What's here?" The lat/long will pop up in the fill in box for location.

You also need to fill in all the blanks on custom location. Delete the lat/long already in the bottom space of custom location and replace with the correct coords. You probably have 1, 2, 3, locations now. click on the correct (newest) one. Give it time to load after saving.

Dizzy's suggestion works well. Just copy and paste. Here is a web site that works too.

I guess moving the Adirondacks is out of the question : )

That's because the geocoders can't find the trailhead you listed. You need to tell it the exact latitude and longitude coordinates yourself when the geocoders can't figure it out the location you specify.
