Hmmm... January in Maine. The weather is fickle at best. If its cold outside - we'll all have warm hearts to share :) How's that for BS to shovel?

As always - it's a crap shoot - but the show Will go on :) One LAST time!

Thanks to Team MudCup for another superb LL Bean event, a focal point for Maine lore!! Plenty of ink for all in various locations and climate. We are beat and were only participants, unable to image how these two Maine boxing icons feel, rest well ladies, well deserved!!!!

To pull off something of this magnitude there are always others behind the scene. The hosts at the pre-gathers, Angel Treads, Nittany and Happy Daze a big shout out!! You had your hands full keeping folks at bay, as we all were anxious to get the ink. Last but certainly not least are all the carvers that contributed, a chance for us folks up here to see your talents! Ayuh, thanks!!

Being my first Bean event, I did not know what to expect. Well I had a blast and everyone one I met, both friends & new friends, had a blast as well! Lots of fun & smiley faces! Now I only wish I'd made it up there before!!
It was also a pleasure to finally meet you guys after all those close calls over the years!

I agree! It was a great event and we had an amazing time! I think we logged about 150 traditional finds... who knows how many event-type stamps and many exchanges!

We weren't quite as hardcore as many, but boxed lots and slept little, got questioned by the cops, had to shimmy under some stairs because the box kept sliding away, met lots of fun people, ate lobster and whoopie pies (not together) and had an absolute blast of a whirlwind weekend. Thanks so much Team Mudcup! I'm glad I was able to attend the final Bean event. It was an incredible end to an era. Loved the Freeport area, I hope to come back to visit soon!

Dbare and I wanted to add our thanks and congratulations on an incredibly well done event!! Unfortunately with the weather situation in Chicago we are now on our way driving down to Boston.

Having said that I want to add that we are both saddened by team Mudcup's message this morning. With all the obvious and epic amounts of work that went into this those actions are incomprehensible.

Glad you both could make it... safe travels and stay ON the runway!

Thank you so much for hosting it! We had been to one before so we had a high level of anticipation but this one exceeded everything else we've ever seen! The carves were amazing we loved the clues (not directions!! 8D)

Our hope is to make it back for an event in a slightly kinder month than January? We're still bummed out that we missed the Searsport event because of my first round of surgery.... And failing that we sincerely hope we get to see you again soon!

for everyone who was kind enough to send us a note about not being able to socialize with us I apologize. there was no way I was going to miss a chance to get as many of these phenomenal carves as possible.

For me the funniest part of the entire event was when the Winter Owls series posted while we were on our way headed down to Portland and I ordered Dbare to turn around and go back for them....you should have seen his face!

Wow! Just.. wow! Only my second event, and such a wonderful experience. Thank you to Team Mudcup, and all of the carvers. I am in awe of your talent and generosity.
I sent an email out to the group asking about some stamps that I can't figure out how to log, but am wondering if this is a better venue.

Any help would be so appreciated.

I have a few I don't know the box name/number of also. One is a skunk that was by a door ... and a cassette tape ... in the same vicinity. Also wondering about the plastic ornaments and little words DOE, CIA, ICE, etc.

CIA - 301783 - The rest should be numbered around that

How about the toilet stamp in the outhouse outside of the front door of the Quality Suites?

And the "Who Cut One" stamp tucked in to a picture frame outside of the bathrooms in the fishing section at LL Bean?

Where do I even begin! I had the time of my life this weekend!

My first thanks goes out to Janila who so graciously swung into RI from PA to pick me up and bring me along, you have given me memories to last a lifetime.

I got to see some old faces, met new ones, ran around like a kid in the hotel, climbed like a goat over snowbanks, ate like a queen, had a jolly good time with the LL Bean indoor hunt - the clues certainly kept me alert - and the beautiful stamps, so many talented carvers. Event organizers - you’ve outdone yourselves.

I loved the area so much that Not A Lone Wolf and I are returning for the Aunt Agatha library event. Hotel already booked!

Questions identifying stamps

LL Bean 100 stamp behind rifle in case in hunting section

Braum's stamp (shaped like a bottle), I thought it was in Best of America

The Braum stamp is part of route 66. It's a milk bottle.
the LLbean 100 is a stand alone box, not listed yet that I've seen.
