I knew one of the 'kings of Ma. boxing' would come thru. I just realized I have my finds hidden on LB and AQ so that is why it didn't come up on the list.....DOH...."slapping my forehead....." Thanks DD

Pass down clues.
Way back machine.
Secret glyphs on the trail.
Using a dowsing stick.

There are a couple dozen sights of personal clues, regional clues, or archived clues.
I am currently in possession of a book of clues that has been passed along leading to a set of boxes by ancient boxers.

Looks to be a good price too.
BUT, no mention of shipping and handling costs. I bet that will bring the price right up there.

Coming from Hawaii, that would be a VERY interesting "slight of hand" trick! I'll accept a clue set in the mail!!! ;o)

Hey MA letterboxers!

I'm located in Boston and I've been slowly getting more into letterboxing. I really like the stamps component of boxing - I really like carving, collecting and seeing what kind of art gets put out there - but I'm bad at figuring out where to plant, materials, etc. I'm a city mouse and do not have a car. I love making larger stamps, which are kinda harder to hide in urban spots (and I don't really want to put them all behind museum front desks). Does anyone in MA really like the clue-writing and box-hiding parts? I'd love to meet up with people - I tried suckering my friends into this and was only partly successful - and making more boxes! I have a whole series of boxes I want to carve for but I worry about my ability to hide them!

Let me know!

EDITED to add: a couple kind people have AQ mailed me to collaborate so I am all set! Just wanted to update :) and thank you all!

Hello all,

If you are looking for quite a challenge, consider an exhilarating hunt for an 18-year old box. Old Betsey took us to a great place, even if the views weren't what they used to be. I suppose that's why nobody has stopped by in over fourteen years. We made a return trip up that hill today... the historic dried out logbook pages needed to be reunited with that original stamp. Perhaps some other folks will want to head up there to put their own John Hancock in the new logbook.

Best,
Nairon

Thanks for taking the time to sign up and try to get the letterbox back to its owner! The MA letterboxers will try to see who is the owner and contact you!

Thanks again for saving this letterbox from the trash!

Looks like it may be a Hitchhiking letterbox. This is one that travels from inside one letterbox to the inside of another. Unless someone else found better information (bonus box etc)

You've already been very helpful! Is it possible for you to mail it to a local letterboxer?

If its owner isn't found, you can mail it to me and I'll make sure it gets back into circulation (maybe in michigan.....)

If you're willing to send, you can put the whole thing in the mail to me.

Thanks so much to CoffeeSpoons for a great event at the Tewksbury Library today! A nice low key get together in a warm and cozy spot on a chilly day!
It was great to see old friends and the stamps were just beautiful. A great opportunity to see new boxers learn about our hobby! CoffeeSpoons put together a wonderful clue book and her presentation was fun and full of great information. Thanks again for all the fun!

Thank you and all of the Tewksbury Library staff for allowing us to play inside on a chilly day.
I wondered what the regular library patrons thought of our curious activity.

To the new boxers, Welcome.
This is just the beginning of the fun you have to look forward to as you play the game.
