...but in front of the little cave was a real live copperhead...

Here's what I heard lately: If you're hiking a trail and you smell cucumbers, beware! There's a copperhead nearby. Anybody else ever heard that?

It looks like Bungalow Boxer is moving back to Florida in August!

I haven’t really boxed or hiked in FL. Anyone want to show me the ropes on hiking in FL?

We’ll be down in late June/early July for a couple of weeks, and then back in earnest sometime in August.

Sure I'll take you on a pine scrub tour but not a day before Dec 1.

Hahaha, yea I'm no Florida hiking expert and really there is all kinds of terrain in Florida but once you start boxing here you will get to see quite a bit of it.

And regarding our (Florida) snakes and gators...You have (Connecticut) snakes and ticks. I'll choose gators over ticks every single time!

Go after some Kirbert boxes, he has some super lovely hikes in the panhandle/north central Florida area.

I've just recently started hiking in the Ocala Nat'l Forest area, not planting too much though due to those much prescribed burns.

Not real familiar with the Kissimmee area for hiking although there are some lovely parks with trails. Nothing like CT but you'll adapt and maybe even appreciate it here too...

In the meantime I am so happy you are moving to Florida!!! Soon as you get unpacked please plan an inside (air conditioned) event, pretty please!!!

Hi fellow letterboxers,
I will be visiting Spokane Valley beginning tomorrow through next Thursday. Can anyone tell me if there are any Word of mouth boxes? Or any recommendations for boxes I wouldn’t want to miss? Thank you,
Lunarcy

If you are looking for a formal outline and handout, we do a training here in my local scout council. I have been presenting this class to our leaders for several years, the outline/handout is not perfect but it is packed full or information, I can post/send it for you if you like.

Did you look in the den?

Of course I did, this was my third attempt at that box and I really wanted it. Turns out it was the wrong den.

Hi!
I've lived in Spokane a while and still don't know of any word of mouth boxes. Lol, but I would recommend the Spokane House boxes north of town for sure. A very entertaining good time, they were. If you like a bit of a hike, the Places and Things That Were series in the Dishman Hills Natural Area is fun too. Hope you enjoy your visit!

If you're using a newer browser, there should be a date picker which makes things easy. Sounds like you aren't, though. (Nothing wrong with that!) You can still enter dates, but they have to be entered manually in a "computer format" which is YYYY-MM-DD.

If you can upgrade your browser (assuming you aren't on a computer that can't be upgraded), that will make a number of things easier to do on this website and is highly recommended. *nodding*

Letterboxing Poker Run

I just got an idea for an event. A Letterboxing poker run! (Disclaimer: No gambling, yaddah yaddah). For those not familiar with a poker run, you travel to 5 places. Collect a playing car in a sealed envelope at each location. At the end. The envelopes are torn open and your ‘hand’ is revealed. Best and worst hands win a prize! I have no idea where yet, somewhere btw Ukiah and Davis and Hayward. Sometime later this Summer.I will need volunteers for some carves!

Anybody interested?

printing out several clues to an area

I am heading out to an area for a long weekend to do some boxing. I want to print several clues at once to maximize my use of paper. Is there a way to pick several boxes and hit print and have them all print out at once time? If so can someone please give this tech challenged boxer detailed directions?
Thanks!!

Yes, when you run a search you're presented with a list of letterboxes. Click the little box to the left of each one that you want to print clues for. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click the Print Clues icon.

The next page gives you a series of options at the top, so you can select one clue per page (or not), single-column layout (or not), allow split clues between pages (or not), etc.

Hope this helps.
