When we find a HH, we really enjoy looking through the logbook. What I don't like though, is finding a HH that has a logbook much larger than the stamp. Having a large logbook makes the HH so much harder to replant into a traditional box in our area.

I still remember the cute logbook of your "Apple Pi" HH. Such a fun surprise finding that in a box!🍎

In historical letterboxing (before the internet), hitchhikers were considered as regular letterboxes. Therefore, they should have logbooks. just MHO

When I find a HH with a super large logbook, I double bag it and put it in a cheap Tupperware on top of another letterbox. Though usually, I won't take one that large, so I suspect they sit in letterboxes or drawers for a long time.

The hides in our area tend to be 3x4 L&L, the little Sistema boxes, Altoid tins, and pouches. I have put larger HH with boxes hidden under lamp skirts, and have moved some via mail and while vacationing to other areas.

I am of the mind that when launched it is out of my hands. This is one of the things that makes this hobby interesting. Knowing exactly what will happen is boring. So to all of you who agonize over what has happened to a hitchhiker, cootie or flea,...

Last summer I launched two HH'ers in New Milford CT. That fall, I was informed there was a brush fire at the park & my heart sunk! Turns out, both have been found this spring & the boxes I left them at survived the fire as well! Now two HH'ers I ha...

It is possible that someone put the hitchhiker out there and forgot to list it.

when you search, be sure you've selected to search "HH, cooties, etc" (I forgot the exact label) and noit "Traditionals". ALso try searching only for part of the name. Its usually a good idea to note the name and owner of an HH when you find one to he...

If this situation happened to me, I would add a little logbook, with the explanation that I couldn't find any oN-line info on it. At least, that way, future finders can stamp in and see where it's been. You can record your find on "Hat Day" as an unli...

Thanks to everyone's responses. I do think you're right and that it's just an unlisted HH -- I don't think any of the other HH's labeled "Elvis" are it, from what I've seen. I like the suggestion of adding a logbook to it, so it'll at least have some i...

It's a long shot, but you could try contacting the last few finders of the box you found the HH in. One of them might know.

That would be my hh. My sister planted that for me on her trip to Louisiana last year. I have changed my trail name since then. I am glad to see it is getting around.

Thanks for letting us know. There is no date when it was left nor the box name. Will replant it soon here in CT once enough snow disappears.
