I was going to ignore this thread and chalk it up to random-ness. But, I'm sitting here next to a package I just got today. It was mailed out back on 4/24/17.

The numbers given are for events in February with probably half from out of state. Based on AZ residents that regularly attend events I can probably count 15-20, and several of us travel extensively during the summer. I'm not sure how many would come from out of state. Sounds like a great event and the AZ crowd would love it, but numbers could be small. Let us know how we can help, if needed.

Me! Me! What size does it have to be, and does it need some sort of pouch or other hiding place? I will be there by Wednesday evening!

Not sure if this has been suggested but do you think velcro might stick into the roof? Alternatively you could acquire one of those fake hollow rocks and hide the LB in there?

Have you tried brand new envelopes with clear tape and printed labels? Maybe that's an experiment you can do?

I had one ltc that was made for a tribute to a letterboxer who had passed. It reminded me how brave she was and I actually put it on my bedside table while I recovered from a difficult surgery. Some ltc's are fun, some are cute and some are awe inspiring....something for everyone. I wish my life had room for them, but it is not in the cards right now.

Awesome thanks. I wanted to do this fall but i decided to travel to see the total solar eclipse instead. Don't think i can do both. So probably early summer (first week of June) or next fall. Didn't think about summer travel or snow birds. Do you think if it were June. ..or august /sept people would attend?

Not exactly the same thing, but I was also once in a situation sans letterboxing gear. One does what one must, as chronicled here (long ago)... http://wassa.atlasquest.com/2008/07/boxers-n-briefs-three.html

When SWMBO doesn't have her stamp along, she just draws the stamp image with a pen. Since she drew the original image her sig stamp was based on, that's legit.

I currently can't carve because of cataracts. Wednesday that will hopefully start to change as I get my left and worse eye done that day followed by my right eye two weeks later.
This is very reassuring.

I would be interested in flying to Arizona for an event. We usually try to go to one event far away then make a vacation around it.

St charles folks: While at blanchette park looking for a LB, I found in complete disarray, a stamp and log book The Stamp was You are my sunshine. I emptied the water, retrieved the lid and placed under a tree. the logbook seemed empty. I can let you know where I put it if the owner would like. I searched but could determine the owner.

Hello Fellow Boxers! Would you like to have even more boxes to find? Would you like to have more people find your boxes? Let’s Carve in Public on July 22nd to get the interest in our hobby jumping. All you need to do is: sign up, pick a place and carve! I’m planning on having some AQ cards available to give to any interested spectators. I’d love to get a message from you about your experience afterwards! Happy Carving !

I typically list them as event boxes. A traditional box is a box with clues that need to be followed to find the box. If something is just sitting out to be found and stamped, IMO it's not a traditional box.

No. They are event boxes. It's really not a matter of opinion. You don't have to do anything to get an event box. It's lying on a table therefore it is not a traditional box.
From the glossary:
"An event stamp, sometimes called an event box, is a stamp or box brought to an event or gathering for just the duration of the event. Many event stamps are tabletop boxes, but an event stamp generally won't have clues, may not have a logbook, and will only be available for the duration of the event or perhaps the day or two after the event has ended."

Usually Wanda and Pete draw in logbooks when they make a find. But once I found where they had not forgotten their signature stamp.

Well, I will be carving in public on that day -- as I do every Saturday and Sunday between July 1st and Labor Day. So, might as well sign up, since apparently there's nothing else I have to do.
