I think most people that stick around in doing LTCs feel similarly. I do the same thing, I start to create the card, then change things based on how I think people would like it. It's been a while since I've done any, but maybe this fall, I'll make another set.

It's not just me. Many boxers have donated postage and stamps. I just get to send them out. :)

I've got a few!

-Tessellations (I made one as an experiment and would love to see what other people come up with! Design instructions in the link if you have no idea what I'm talking about)
https://www.math.nmsu.edu/~pmorandi/math112f00/EscherRectangle.html
-Stars, planets, and space
-Robots in peril
-Create your own super hero
-Favorite meme

Yeah... I know my ideas are kinda out there. I guess I like the idea of encouraging people to design their own stamps since those are my favorite.

I am visiting a city 3 hours form my home
I didn't bring any signature stamps
Of course, on AQ today there is a new box listed just minutes from the event center I am at
I can muster paper and makers so as to record the stamp in the box
But I have no way to stamp into the log
Would you forgo the box because you can't stamp in?
Obtain the stamp but never admit to AQ that you found the box?
Any help in this dilemma appreciated
( I know, I know...don't leave home without the sig stamp)

Go find the box and log it on AQ. It's a bummer you don't have your signature stamp but sometimes that happens and you shouldn't let it ruin a good opportunity to find a box. Also, you can always do your best hand rendering of your stamp (I've done this before).

Just sign your trail name. At events where there is a logbook in every box, this can be common. Some people don't even do that.

Hello all!

Last fall I hosted a huge Harry Potter Themed event in NC. I have always hoped to replicate it in AZ, since I am from Tucson and spent most of my summers on Mt Lemmon. Originally I wanted it at the girl scout camp but I got a quote and it is WAYY too much on my wallet to do that one. So I'm looking for other options.

This event is very different from other events- I need a place that can be fully rented, so very few muggles will be around. This event involves lots of props and decorations, and it takes at least one full day JUST to set them up and the goal is to have it up for 2 days of boxing. So it can't be at a park where muggles would tamper with them. For example, I have quidditch hoops to set up, I have decorations for all 4 houses, divination, owlry, etc etc....that is spread and set up over a large area. It's just under 200 stamps!

Anyway- I'm currently looking into a couple group sites where I can rent multiple group ramadas. Found a couple but they have limited parking.

Soooo having never attended an event in Arizona--- on average, how many people usually attend? I am currently looking at Shower's point (one of the place I camped as a scout) and even if I get all 3 sites (Which will work ok for my event plans) and even though each one holds up to 25 people overnight ....there's only 15 official parking spots. With room to park along the road. Is this enough? I assume locals would arrange carpool up Mt Lemmon anyhow.....

Advice appreciated. I don't have dates yet. I have a small window between my work schedule and the campground opening, I hoped to host this year...might be next year.

Thanks!
Bonnie (Bee)

PS I don't get to use the word "ramada" here in NC. Everyone thinks I'm referring to the hotel...

This is the correct thing to do if you forget your signature stamp.

I wanted to carve a stamp to go with the yarn bomb. But I forgot. I had clues too.
Anyone interested in carving a teeny 11?

THANKS! It occurred to me as I hit post that I could probably look these up.

However it is still a question I have-- is 15 spots (plus some unofficial spots on the road) enough for typical attendance? Surely some local boxers know each other well enough to carpool ~1 hour from Tucson (depending where you live exactly)?? How many cars does an average of 50 Arizonans equal? HA!
