Heads Up to anyone who have plants on the Appalachian Trail.
A LOT of the forest is on fire in Nantahala Nationtal Forest and now the Fire is in the Smokys. The Wesser Fire Tower is confirmed burned and in know of at least 6 boxes on that loop. Couldn't find any of them three weeks ago when I was up there but I also didn't have anything to dig in the undergrowth with. However now, All plants are likely gone.

At the time of this post there is concern that NOC is also on Fire.

I wish you the best of luck in finding your dogs a new family but since you specifically mentioned that one came from a breeder I urge you to contact that breeder first. Many breeders will take back dogs that they have bred no matter the circumstances and its also possible that the breeder may have contacts for families that are appropriate homes for your breed.

I am visiting Gulf Shores and wondered if there are any letterboxers in the area that would like to meet. I will be here until Friday, Feb. 10. I am leaving a few "souvenirs" behind when I head back north. Happy Letterboxing!

If anyone happens to find a HH by the name of Morel Magic (carve is of a little mushroom) would you please write Box #224103 on it so people can record it. I would love to know where it is traveling to. It was the first HH I sent out and it has only been recorded by the initial finder in August 2013.

ZoeMomma and I have an idea. What if we planned a Reunite-Rejuvenate event? We miss all of you, and we miss hanging around at gatherings visiting. But it’s hot, and we don’t really have time to plan a full-on gathering with lots of planted boxes.

Instead we’re thinking about a reunion gathering where we can visit and enjoy our friends. Everyone brings one box—. Anything that has been sitting around for awhile. A box, a retired postal, a lost hitchhiker, anything that needs a new life. Then everyone chooses or randomly draws one to take home and do something with. We all get the stamps, the chance to visit, and some artwork gets a new start.

This would involve air conditioning. :-)

Would anyone be interested in joining in something like that?

We have been to a few events kind of like this. "Meet and Greet" style events are just like this and the last one we went to had everybody bring a stamp and logbook. They had puzzle clues that the answers would help you unlock the box. We all had fun meeting new friends and catching up with some long time players...
