As PapaSolo said, he's already posting updates from TrailTroll's sister, Lori, in several places. But there seem to be a lot of people following TrailTroll's progress on the United States board here. Since it seems like TrailTroll can use all the prayers and positive vibes she can get, I will try to post updates from the Michigan board onto the US board. Since I'm on AtlasQuest all the time anyway, I figure it's the least I can do.

PapaSolo posted the following this morning:

I received an email yesterday from Trailtroll's sister, Lori, about TT's current condition, but when I got home and attempted to post it, I couldn't find it on my pc, so I'm going from memory here (ha!). The hospital is moving Kristin to ICU, down from critical care, so that's good news, and they are removing some of her tubes, so that's more baby steps in the right direction. I asked Lori to resend me her email, and if she does, or if I find the original, or get more info, I'll be sure to pass it along. Lori sends a sincere thank you to everyone who sends their positive thoughts, vibes, and prayers. Things are getting better. :)

Thanks, Dawnkey. Our letterboxing community is a wonderful group of people, based on the people I've met. TrailTroll is a fighter, but we can make the fight easier by supporting her with prayer and cards. If anyone would want her address, AQ message me and I can send it to you. PapaSolo is also willing to do so.

And even better news today!

Latest update! Kristin is agitated because she can't talk with the trach tube in, but she is nodding in response to questions. She's also responding to Lori reading the cards she's getting. :)

Let's send in cards from letterboxers across the country so that TrailTroll can keep responding to them!

It would be nice if every day were a good day, but I guess that's not realistic. Posted by PapaSolo on the Michigan board early this morning:

News about TrailTroll from her sister, Lori.: Not a good day. Totally unresponsive. Neurologist says this can happen. She was very alert the last two days and now she's tired. Let's hope that's all. EEG and MRI today.

Sending more hugs and lovin's. <3

It's nice to follow up the last post with a more encouraging word. PapaSolo posted this earlier this evening on the Michigan board:

From Lori: Very good day! First day in a slant chair. She (TrailTroll) was very interactive. She wants to come home! Tomorrow being Monday, she'll get the full intake from all the therapists. She's getting better with hand dexterity, so she has been using sign language to talk to me. Sort of.

PapaSolo just posted another positive report on TrailTroll. Definitely a long struggle, but it's so encouraging that she's apparently past those days of not responding at all.

From Lori: Update on my beloved sister (TrailTroll) who suffered a traumatic brain injury 4 weeks ago yesterday. She has been moved to LTAC - long term acute care. She's still on the trach tube so she can't talk. Can't stand on her own. BUT her memory issues are reducing and her ability to write is improving. Big help with communication. She keeps saying she wants to come home and that kills me. It will probably be weeks. But she's alive and very slowly improving. Please keep up your good thoughts and prayers 👍

I haven't re-posted every single one of PapaSolo's reports on TrailTroll to the US board, but this one is a must-read for sure!

From Lori: Update on my sister (TrailTroll) - Mom and I round the corner and head down the hall to Kristin's room and notice someone waving at us. Someone walking on their own with a walker. Sister. 😂 She walked a good distance. Since she was on mobile oxygen they put her in the wheelchair and said to take her for a spin! She loved it. She ate food today! French toast and milk. They downsized the trach tube! Makes it easier to talk. She had a fruit cup and yogurt. Sat in the chair twice! When the trach is done they'll move her four floors down to in patient rehab. Don't know when. Great day!!

One thing to add about my sister - the Miracle Girl - is 4 weeks ago yesterday they were explaining to my Mom, brothers and I how you end the life of a loved one on life support!! Today she ate a fruit cup😍❤️👏👍

I wonder if this was directed against trail runners. The article said there was a big trail scheduled there for March.

I work next door. One of our cameras had the view from the other side.
I've had earthcam up for the past hour.
Yep. They seem to be packing up.
I bet the other side of the golden onion is a bit smoky looking.

Hi everybody! The Crabby Ol' Man and I are going to be in New Orleans for the next couple of months. If anyone has boxes that need checking or maintenance, just let us know and we'll be happy to help. I also plan to carve and plant a few while I'm here. Also, I was wondering if there were any events coming up anywhere near here?

We have the opportunity to travel to England. My Noxer companions have graciously agreed to allowing me an afternoon or day to letterbox at Dartmoor Park.
I need suggestions about how to do that. Boxes to not miss (or ones to skip) of course. But any other suggestions would be FABULOUS and very much appreciated!! You can pm me if you don't want to share publicly.

Ask at any pub aroudn Dartmoor! They probably have a letterbox.
My first letterboxing experience was ten years ago in Dartmoor .... with no clues I was able to find quite a few!!

I highly recommend Sunday dinner at a Dartmoor Pub.

Cranmere Pool is quite a hike. If the weather gets bad, you can get stranded.

Ask at any pub aroudn Dartmoor! They probably have a letterbox.

Just to be clear, they probably have stamps. They don't consider it a letterbox unless it's hidden outdoors and requires a bit of searching in order to find. It's like the difference between an event stamp and a real letterbox.

But if you look at a map of Dartmoor, anything marked as a "tor" probably has some letterboxes hidden around. Just look around for a good hiding place and you can find tons of them! Especially those tors that are near parking areas--they, as a whole, seem to have the most letterboxes.

If you look around for 10 minutes and don't find anything, that doesn't mean that there aren't any letterboxes around--but the area probably isn't very full of them either.

As for recommended boxes, the Cranmere Pool box is legendary since it started the letterboxing phenomena--it's special to get the world's first letterbox! But it tends to require a bit of advance planning. You don't want to walk through the area when there are military exercises going on--getting blown up could really ruin your day! And it's quite a hike compared the tors where most letterboxes can be found. And you'll need a good topo map or the exact GPS coordinates if you want to find it since there's not even a visible trail that will lead you to it. But it's definitely a special box if you have the time and energy to make a go of it.

Totally valid. And the reason you just want to hit any big Tor is a family of four (boxers) we ran into at lunch in Princeville on day gave us the following advice:
-let the men "putter" with their compasses
-the kids said they got paid 10p by their dad for every box they brought him so they just go out and stick their arms under every conceivable niche and that they did better than their dad
-I asked the mother about randomly sticking your arm in holes but she assured me that there are no "nasty stinging or biting creature" in Dartmoor
