I've been working with this reporter for a little over a week. We set a time to meet on Saturday, I gave her an assignment to read letterboxing.info and also the About Letterboxing section on AQ, and contacted the box owner of a series on a hidden trail in Fulton County for permission to take her (since I don't have any hides in that county).
Then, when I sent directions on where to meet, her response was "I am not familiar with XXX Park and the only one I find online is in Georgia. Are you in Georgia?"

Since she wasn't up for a road trip, I'm passing her off to y'all.

Pink Stuff -- fixed?

Well, it's gettin' about that time. I'm runnin' low on carving material and will need to order some. I've tentatively decided not to buy any more white SLQ; I just don't enjoy carving on it. I really loved the first piece of SLQ I tried which was a piece of their "random color" stuff (my piece was lime green) and wonder if the color added to the formulation may have actually helped its carvability.

So, here's my question: What's up with Speedy-Carve these days? Did they fix their crumbling issues? Is it back to being something worth carving on? I always loved the good pink stuff, but I can't be wasting my time with that crumbly stuff. I'd probably order a block of Eco Carve before I went that route.

Thank you. Possibly they did not have a lot of finds. No worries. A new account can be made, but I figured that I would ask before going that route.

I appreciate everyone's suggestions and feedback. :-)

Masterpiece Tracker.
I have been working on this one for quite a while. The tracker will consist of famous paintings. You don’t want to miss this one! The stamp collection will only have one logbook accompanied by TEN stamps.
This will come in a priority flat rate padded envelope. The postage will by $6.80. Since this involved an extensive amount of time to carve the tracker will be opened as “limited” and will only be available for 10 visits. If interested send an AQmail to IrishRef and include your mailing address and an alternative e-mail. I expect signup inquiries to come quickly and plan on finalizing over the weekend. Those chosen will be posted by April 4, 2016.

http://www.atlasquest.com/showinfo.html?gTrackerId=8928

The artworks are as follows:
Starry Night – Van Gogh
Girl with a Pearl Earring – Vermeer
Peaceable Kingdom – Hicks (a print of this one hung in my office for 10 years.)
Don Quixote – Picasso
American Gothic – Wood
Persistence of Memory – Dali
Creation of Man – Michaelangelo
The Scream – Munch
Mona Lisa – DaVinci
Last Supper – DaVinci

The Box itself has a cracked lid and a broken wing- so for now everything is inside a gallon sized freezer bag, inside the failing box that has been keeping everything dry despite its problems. Please make sure the gallon sized bag gets zipped completely and in note stuck in the seal when closing our struggling box.

I have a permanent solution to the problem, but need to do a little decorating first. Hope to have it ready by the end of the weekend- weather permitting.

Hope you are all intrigued now- I love that my hubby collects weird junk.

I haven't had trouble with it in a while. I always buy the larger slabs. I have heard of more trouble with the 4x6".

Its not 2009 pink, but it will do.

I have the most awesome idea! I, Joy, am planting our first letterbox for my husband, Neen, to find!
Since it's our first anniversary, the "paper" anniversary, I made a journal to write all the reasons I love him and I'm going to put it in with the box so that he has that to take with him. He has no idea!
My birthday is two days before our anniversary and my younger sister's birthday is on our anniversary so we're having a picnic at the state park near our house and I'm going to have it hidden a short walk away! So he won't even be expecting an anniversary present!
So everyone in Connecticut keep your eyes open for a new letterbox at the end of the month! :)

There must be some stash of 2009 pink out there as I found a small slab at AC Moore 2 weeks ago. It was in the pile of 7 slabs of 2013.

Its not 2009 pink, but it will do.

None of the local craft stores have any carving material. I've considered this a disadvantage. However, with the problems with Pink it may have just worked out for the better not having the option.

My ongoing employment status will depend largely on the HR Director's sense of humor regarding today's upcoming Work Prank...

:-D Awesome. I especially like the Finders Notes Required. I may just plant more and better boxes if people beg, schmooze, give me 5 out of 5 score, and put me on a pedestal.

Nah - it is not fixed....same crumbly stuff. If you are a person who has adapted to it and can tolerate it, then by now it's probably fine-but it doesn't and won't ever work for me - I'm sure others have their own experiences and viewpoints though, and there are many carvers out there that are way better than me that could probably get good results with ANY material, but I cannot seem to get a clean line or fine details on new Pink to save my soul! I've tried and tried, but it really IS a waste of time, in my experience. I still have some good pink, but when it's gone, who knows....*gasp!*

Considering the merger will be complete by tomorrow, my guess is yes. We all know that mergers are never that smooth and there are usually tears involved.

give me 5 out of 5 score

I have mixed feelings about that part of the changes made with the merger. I mean that just because people get their feelings hurt by not getting rated 5 on every box that they plant doesn't mean that GT should make them automatically receive a 5 rating. That will make every box a Purple Diamond and make the status totally useless. It's just like when every participant getting a 1st place trophy now days.

I'm sure that he's edited that out by now so that no one else complains about that change, but he shouldn't have put it in the list of changes in the first place. I guess that it is his web site though so he can make everything get a 5 rating if he wants. I'm sure Kelsung will have a problem with this change too.
