Get a roku, go to the YouTube channel. Search for Jillian Michaels. Do her 30 day shred workouts. Lose weight and build muscle. There's also a workout for problem areas. Worked for me! :)
Healthy eating helps too. Avoid all processed foods, and eat a rainbow.
And way to go on your your journey thus far! High five to ya!

Sorry I'm so late on the bandwagon here! I've gained a lot of muscle this year (and lost 50+ lbs) using a home exercise program along with free weights (I have 3,5,8 and 10 lb weights at home) and a yoga mat. The home exercise program I'm on is high in veggies and protein, but does not cut out good fats or carbs. I've been substituting chicken and turkey sausage in for regular sausage to cut out the bad fats, although I sometimes use real sausage to make my husband happy! I eat steak, chicken, turkey, sausage and still lose weight and gain muscle.

In the last month, I've supplemented my protein with an after-workout protein drink (again, I'm not going to promote products here... if anyone wants any information, just message me), which has helped my muscles tremendously, not only helps build muscle, but helps with muscle recovery so I'm less sore.

The only places I'm sore now, are in my knees, which I may have for the rest of my life, because I did WAY too much hiking at 240 lbs and ruined the joints. I'm hoping that once I get into the low 100's (I'm 180 now), the achiness in my knees will subside.

Good luck!

My sister in law had very painful knees/arthritis and foot pain, when she gained weight to about 165 lbs. She's 5'5". When she lost weight to about 135, she found the pain was mostly gone. Here's to hoping your knees will recover, and maybe in the mean time try not to overdo it when they do hurt. I alternate my exercises so as not to get a repetition injury.

I started on a keto diet on the first of Dec after getting a blood test a little high on the A1c and I have lost 15 lbs already. Yay! I'll have to see where I am on the A1c in six months on this.

Great job!!!! I was recently diagnosed with diabetes and have been trying to control my a1c with diet and exercise and lost 20lbs since Oct. I fell off the wagon right before thanks giving but have maintained the loss. I still have a long ways to go as I need to loose 130lbs more. Good luck on your journey as well. :-)

I had great short term results on the keto diet, but I couldn't sustain it. It was too difficult. Now I have limited carbs each day, which has helped tremendously, and I'm still losing weight.

I found I was a diabetic recently and have lost 6 pounds. We already ate decently, but needed to cut back/out on sugar. Add walking and you have a pretty good plan.

I've seen the
new program, but haven't started it.
It seems to be a healthier program.
I looked up the Chocolate Stampeed at Longhorn and got scared.

Best wishes,

I'm on the third version of WW since I started. Unfortunately I haven't really been doing anything with it for 6-12 months. The boyfriend also was doing it but this new system caused him to quit and look elsewhere for weight loss assistance.

I'll probably be getting back to it Tuesdsy. That's my scale day. Joy. >_<

Googling turns up lots of hits: https://www.fs.fed.us/wildflowers/ethnobotany/medicinal/index.shtml

Or: https://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/medical-marijuana-faq

Maybe if you could be more specific about what you are looking for?

yeah, I did the google thing. I'm not interested in paganism, witchcraft, or hogwarts..lol. Not necessarily marijuana, either. I am looking for a basic introductory text on plants, nomenclature, preparations. My thoughts are to complement my future ADN (starting in Jan) with herbology on a personal level.
I was hoping to narrow the search, beginning with more informed persons' recommendations from experience.

Have you gone to any health food or herbal stores? I do a lot more with oils, herbs, chinese medicine for healing. But I really dont know how to prepare them. I buy already finished products. Hmm...I wonder if a chiropractor or even a massage therapist would have good information for you? Another idea - I have a really good library. I have just gone to talk to them and told them things that I'm interested in and I have been able to connect with people that way. Basically I left my name and number at the front desk and told them if they know of anybody that can help me just have that person call me. Weird, yes. Kind of. But it has worked.

Hi InkTap,

I am a practicing herbalist and horticulturalist. I practice science based herbal medicine and not paganism, witch craft, etc.

I am designing my website to be a beginners guide to herbal medicine. I haven't written anything in a while but I still have a lot of information available.

Feel free to check out my website and ask me any questions you might have!

I've been learning herbal recipes from https://learningherbs.com/

I bought their Herbal Remedy Kit and it was a great ice breaker for me. I've made an herbal salve, tons of elderberry syrup and echinacea tincture. It opened the door to learning more and realizing how easy it is. They do free webinars periodically and post recipes. They really focus on incorporating herbs into your food and daily life, rather than strictly as medicine.

I would love to hear about what you find and what you make. I want to make an arnica cream next, but haven't gathered all the ingredients yet.
