Does not mean you get all the kid labor an I don't. I already had plans to go do laundry tonight and you guilted me into mowing my own lawn. ( hubby needs to get our mower working (has tore for it just needs to switch it out). And then you tell the neighbors you are going to line out my kids tomorrow...umm sorry you forgot to check with me and see if I had them helping me to find something in the storage unit, organize the camper (goodwill some things or store them) and laundry!

I was wondering about warming it. I noticed that while I was in the sun yesterday, my pink was even easier to carve than usual. Someone in my internet wandering in the last few days also mentioned that you could carve with your block on a heating pad to make it easier. I wonder how OZ would like that.....

I was carving shallower than usual. I will try to go shallower.

That's true also - I work under a lamp that puts off a little heat - not a lot, but I do notice as it warms up, the OZ gets a bit softer.

Take a small scrap piece and don't try to carve an actual image. Just play with how shallow you can carve, and still see an image. Like just barely shave, or sketch on, the surface. It will still show an image. It DOES take longer to carve, for sure. But if you carve shallow it is less painful. It does take a few carves to build up some strength, but you can do it! OZ LOVES Staedtler and Modified Staedtler, the thinner the gouge tip, the better. And even when my gouge is too dull to carve pink, it STILL loves it. It is the best ever, for carving tiny lettering and getting a super sharp, crisp edge.

I don't use OZ for really large carves, and I don't use it for carves that have a large positive image. But it does work great for carves with thin line positive images and lettering. I dont sand mine down, but I do take off the shine, before carving, with 100% acetone.

Also after I'm done carving, I quickly wipe the transferred image off, using acetone. It seems to stamp darker after that.

That's what I have been doing. I have a 1x2" piece that I have been playing with. My hands haven't been bothering me lately which is why I thought I would give it a go. They may just not be strong enough for it though. Oh well. I will keep playing, but I may just have some carving block to share. I have 2 slabs of B grade. I have only cut into one.

I've never had a problem, and I have never had my gouges sharpened. Only once did I notice a difference and it was when I tried an iron transfer. The surface curved and got really tough, but I may have left the iron on too long. I agree with the others it is not good for large stamping areas, but is real nice for detail.

I would love a parrot. We have this cool old Victorian style bird cage that I am planning to put plants in, and is begging for a parrot of some kind.

I don't even remember selecting traditional or ltc.
How do I fix this? I was suppose to list it as an LTC tracker.

Help please? :)

The listing is very confusing. You have your choice of tracker, but you also have attributes, but not for each type of tracker until you chose the type of tracker with one of the listed attributes for that tracker, but you might not see the attribute you want in the particular tracker you want until you select the tracker type and go to the attributes page and there select or select again the attributes you want your tracker to have listed.

Confused yet? ;)

Why attributes are listed on the first page at all is beside me.

Just make sure you select one of the pictures underneath the ltc tracker listing. Don't worry about the attributes yet. Easy and common mistake. I have to remind myself NOT to select the attributes (mainly the themed icon) because it could change the type of tracker.

So, basically delete your listing and relist it. It cannot be changed to an ltc tracker once it is created as a traditional or postal, etc.

I think I figured out my problem. I am a hold it next to your face and carve in your hand kinda gal. When I set it on the table and carve by moving the material, it carves with less effort and the edges of the cuts are smoother. Problem is, how do I see what I am doing if it is more than a few inches from my face? I'll get there.

Don't feel badly...I've listed as a Traditional before, too, and had to start over. You can copy your description and paste into Word before you delete the Traditional...

it cost $13.50 Kinda pricy

Whoa! May I ask about how you sent them? I've been selling things again on eBay, and learning about shipping prices left and right. $13.50 is how much it costs to send an oddly shaped 5 oz item to Russia. In the United States for the same weight via first class 2-6 days, it was around $5.

You'll have to relist it. It can't be edited to change tracker type. I've also done that....

Just only pick the type LTC, don't pick Traditional or any of the other pictures, you don't need them, really.

It was in a fairly large box, and I think priority mail or something, jot regular mail. I was surprised on the price, too.

Try sending it in a large bubble mailer. It should be under $10. Maybe even a small flat rate box, if you take them out of the package. Smallest flat rate box 5x7 size is around $6. Not sure if they will fit ,though.

Or you could AQmail wassamata U (or whatever the spelling) and he should be able to change it. Green Tortuga is (reportedly) hiking the Appalachian Trail and will only be checking in from time to time.
