you read mine on Facebutt.

ok, for the others, i made my goal of walking an average of 10K a day, and to walk Every. Single. Day of 2014.

Goals for 2015: average 12K steps a day, and walk Every. Single. Day.

do you notice a trend?? ;-)

UNLESS it's in a shop... or so it seems to be with other boxes...

It's not so much that you're looking for a particular person in a shop, though--it's still a "location-based search" and not a "person-based search." All indoor boxes require people to open a shop for you, but it doesn't mean that you have to find a specific person to get the box either.

When you're searching for a person, it's a personal traveler.

Bee, I'll let it slide for you. Yesterday was your birthday. =P

Plus, I've played Cards Against Humanity with you and Pugs twice. One of those times with a bunch of letterboxers. Maybe that is corrupting our minds. =P

All right, now who wants to open my CAH deck and play a game?

Happy New Year! 2014 was a good letterboxing year for me, with plants and finds in some amazing places. Starting the New Year in Gatlinburg, TN, and already found 2 boxes at a neat antique place this morning. I can always count on letterboxing for good friends an, adventures, and a good time.

So that box DOES meet the definition on AQ of a traditional and not a PT, right? If so, it's incorrectly listed as a PT now.

Alrighty then, I did get a chance this morning to fix the year-end stats problem, and it was exactly what I thought it was. =)

So I managed to score 7,402,102 steps for the year, which is an increase of about 282,000 steps. Not that much, really. Less than a thousand extra steps per day.

Speaking of which, I averaged 20,280 steps/day in 2014. I broke 20K! =)

However, I broke my streak of about 500 days in a row of at least 10K steps per day--a sad day, indeed. There was one day last year when I got 9,500 or so steps. I barely missed it! *slapping self*

I think I can get even more steps in this next year, though. I've got some work to do! =) Ten million or bust!

For the X's boxes that I'm aware of.... those were always person-based searches. You just had to find the person who had the box. It wasn't in a static location in a business. (At least none of the ones I've found were!) A box at a business is a "location-based" search. A box with a person is a "person-based" search. A box at a business behind a counter that you have to ask a person for.... that's still more of a location-based search. I just ask for the box because it's polite, but I could still find the box on my own. ;o)

Then you must have never found the 2nd of Five. It's been in Dixie's store for many years. But if my word isn't enough, perhaps photos and references? :)

It is identical to every box I have ever found in an store (except that it's more difficult since there's an additional clue to get into that actual box itself).

I went to my first Gen Con in almost 13 years last summer. Not since it had been closer in Milwaukee, WI. Now, it's way in Indiana, but it is FABULOUS! I am a huge costume buff, so I crowd watch, take tons of pics, get some laughs in. It's not a cheap trip, but it has been a long time that the hubby and I spent so much time together. We tested a few new games. One we broke the system and tied on several levels. We bought it because it was fun and the guy threw in free stuff. Lol We joined an art class to etch our own pint glasses... they are all unique and awesome. The food trucks! Never tried anything like them! Such awesome food. I got to meet my favorite author, Margaret Weis and my favorite artist, Larry Elmore. I swear I almost passed out from happiness. I won a free shirt. Got awesome swag. Went shopping (I am putting together a Steampunk costume). But our main thing this year was a LARP by Darkness Remembered. I was hesitant as I had never done this before, but my hubby had. At first I was so anxious, confused, and given a character I that was so not me, I was overwhelmed and cried in the bathroom. I collected myself, went back, my husband sorted it out and the rest of the night, plus the next 3 were so much fun. I met some nice people. In RPG, I have been so many characters, but never fae, even though my every day personality usually goes that direction. But playing as a leprechaun was crazy. Lol

I definitely plan to go back.... plus I wanted to do more letterboxing while I was out. I only got a few last time due to time and our friends being in the car and raining quite a bit. I am hoping one year to spend a whole day letterboxing as they have one of the largest US cemeteries that has over 40 boxes.

I use my hand stiched backpack i got in Iraq, with all my patches from campaigns and boxing on it. As for an Extreme box. I located one in Everett,Wa. It requires bog hopping over some old paletes, and broad jumping a creek. The box is under a concrete barrier near the water front BNSF RR lines.

I found a crackpipe above a door frame in an old fort in downtown Nashville.

Another time I was in a cemetery. I didn't read the clues right. I dropped my pen into a crumbling above ground grave. Stupid me can see the pen, so I reach my arm down into the hole. My entire arm is in there, my face flat and squashed against the stones...and...someone shook my hand!!!!! No I am just kidding. But!!! I was face to face a grey snake sunbathing. Inches. He matched the stones. He flickered his tongue at me. I ripped my arm out so quick, I got all scratched up. About six feet away I could see this thing was either hella long or he had friends bc there was grey snake body all in and out of the open spaces in the stones.

As SeerMeesh said, you really do not want to personally witness that in the woods because you do leave the area pretty quickly. I think the couple I saw wanted to be watched since they were in the middle of a trail and purposely made sure to walk by me when leaving. The place was so open that there are 50 other ways to leave those woods. That actually made me the most uncomfortable was that they felt that they had to walk by me.

Then digging deeper hoping to find the box, a cell phone wrapped in 3 baggies wrapped in a DC metro map.

Maybe this was a clue to one of those Eevil mystery boxes? ;-)

I've heard of those places. Since we have the first Openly Gay mayor here in Seattle, I belive you just have to be cognicent of the bar you go into, otherwise I have never had to park in certain lots to avoid that activity.

As for the Phone....Well I might think my A&E Detective vibe might say you stumbled into the Dark Side of the world. The side were people need to hide Items like that as part of their daily proffesion. I have only had a slight glimps of that world once from my days in the military. Even today all I'm comfortable to say is, My instructions that day were plain and clear, but one of the oddest things I ever did in the military.

Their was a weirdest day blog in the past and that was when I was mistaken for a flasher because the trailhead had a drescription for the average white guy which I fit to a tee. Only that I am 100pounds heavier than the description.

The weirdest thing I have seen while boxing. hmmm....well there was the time when a family of Geocachers and my Daughter & I were looking in the same area of the trail and we both (groups) were trying to not look suspisiose, only that we all probally started to look like a Benny Hill Skit of going back & forth on the trail waiting for the other group to continue on beacause the box and cashe ended up being near ontop of each other.

A couple of summers ago, during one of our rare 90 degree heatwaves, we went looking for a box near one of the secluded lakes in the Snohomish County backwoods. Now the box was old and the clues seamed obliterated, so we pressed on to the lake to eat our picnic lunch with us. We got to the lake and found a nice spot with a little beach to eat our lunch. There was a young couple frolicing around in the water, and just stopped when we came up. We sat and ate, while they pretty much just swam and waited for us to leave. It wasn't untill we packed up after our quick lunch that I noticed their clothes were folded up on a log to the side. Then it hit me they were skinny dipping and this weird guy and his 7 year old daughter were having lunch while they swam naked. Not that we knew that at the time. Once I saw the clothes i appologized to them, and we left. They decided to high tail out of there and passed us on the trail back down to the cars. They decided to go Comando, because the guy was carying their underwere, with his girlfriends bra half dangling out. Stasiaboo goes "Dad, he has her underwere, thats gross".

I didn't even know some of those were gone. A lot can happen in 30 years after you move away from a place, I guess.
