Can't wait to see the pics. Sure wish I could have been there. My daughter keeps telling me I am going to go to Hawaii one of these years.

Sorry I missed you all too. I will be returning in the Spring as I have a 9 mo granddaughter there. Hopefully we can get together then. In the meantime, I did leave a new box. Not sure how secure it will be though. Yep, about the time you sent the message, I was taking off for home. Long trip!!

Aloha everyone, in case you got busy with life and didn't RSVP I thought I would just pop my head up briefly and mention once again that our Oahu Event is Saturday October 24th rain or shine. We will be spending the day meeting, greeting, hunting stamps and eating various foods at Puʻu ʻUalakaʻa State Park. It's a forest covered cinder cone of fun. Hope to see you there.

If you plan on attending please RSVP so we can plan for food and such. We have room for about 15 more stamps so if you would like your work to be part of the fun please visit the event listing for the details.

Wishing everyone a very happy Monday.

Hi All!! My (future) husband and I will be traveling to Kauai and Maui for our honeymoon October 19-30th and plan to do some boxing while we're there, of course! Any suggestions of must sees? We are doing the Waimea swap hike on Kauai and The sunrise bike tour to Mt. Haleakala on Maui, lots of scuba diving, and the hana highway etc. Any tips for hawaiian boxing? We've never been there and are super excited!

I might suggest switching islands to Oahu, and being there on October 24 for an event!! :-) I have only boxed on Oahu(and planted) so I cannot offer you advice about Maui or Kauai, except that they ARE excellent choices when visiting the Hawaiian Islands and that you will enjoy your trip very, very much! Good luck!

Kauai is my favorite of those islands......I find Maui too frenetic since I'm generally looking to relax......Buddha on the Bluff was our favorite on that trip!

All of the boxes on Kauai are a lot of fun to find. We haven't boxed on Maui yet, but our kids have certainly enjoyed it there!

Thank you so much! The one thing I hate most is getting all excited to box somewhere new and exciting, and be disappointed with missing or messed up boxes!

Thanks for the advice! We're hoping it won't be too crazy during the week, and out in Hana. We're doing some diving and the sunrise haleakala trip.

We have done tons of boxing on Oahu, Kauai, and the big island. Amazing boxes in every locale. I can't think which ones were my favorite on each island, but I think there is one in Captain Cook that requires a short walk to a secluded part of the coast and is an amazing walk. :) Highly recommend the boxes in captain cook. As far as Maui, no clue. We stopped going to that island awhile ago as it's just too busy there. BUT, that doesn't mean it's not worth going to as there is cool stuff there. As far as Kauai, most of those boxes seem to be listed on LBNA, so I would check there. Have a fantastic time there and congratulations on your pending nuptuals!
Aloha!

We are traveling to the big island in February! We will be in Oahu overnight on the 5th and leaving the evening of the 6th to the big island. Anyone interested in meeting up for a bit in the morning of the 6th or evening of the 5th? We are going to try and get some of the newer boxes on Oahu before going to the big island. Let me know if anyone is interested. We are very familiar with Hawaii!

I am going to be cruising to Hawaii in March and I would like to show my sister what I know about letterboxing. We have been to Hawaii multiple times, so won't be getting a rental car this time. Are there any letterboxes within walking distance of the ports ~ Hilo, Honolulu, Lahaina and Kauai are our stops. Thank you in advance!!

There is one at Iolani Palace in Honolulu....it's a walk (but not terrible) from the ports, and there is always the Bus! It goes all over Oahu! I've planted all over the island, but it just depends on where you want to go and how much time you have available. Have a wonderful trip!

Thanks! I was there on a family cruise not too long ago and we had a rental car on each island, but we were there with my sister's grouchy hubby. This time we are leaving him behind but hadn't planned on a rental car, so a bus is a great option!!

I had clues (don't know what I did with them) for a box in Nuuanu Cemetery in Honolulu. Can't seem to find it on AQ again either. I remember it was on the Diamond Head side. Can anyone help me with a name or the planter or the clues?

Is it box #189081? It is called Oahu cemetery, but it is spelled "cemetary", by MFH. I don't recall seeing any other boxes along the Pali hwy. area.
I hope I got the number correct...I have a "Dory" short-term memory...lol!
