That is a great suggestion. I would also like to be able to ignore events that I know I won't be able to attend, too.

I always use a special watermark ink for embossing. It is called Versamark and stamps almost clear. It stays sticky long enough for you to cover it with embossing powder and heat with a heat tool.

I know you can create a favorite event search and weed out all the events you cannot make. Just attach the wrench/cannot attend icon to the events you don't want to see, and then create a favorite search to include all events except the wrench events.

I recall a recent suggestion you can rename those tracker icon/tags too. Just rename one of them "ignore this tracker" or something else you'll remember. Then create a favorite search of all trackers and exclude the tagged and igored ones.

I have found that the finish on the paper makes a huge difference. I did an LTC on a piece of hand-made-looking paper - the kind you buy in a large sheet - and it has no "sizing" on it, the finish that makes regular paper slick and less absorbent. I had a devil of a time embossing (white) because the paper absorbs the ink and there isn't enough on the surface to stick powder to it. In addition, the surface is not slick and smooth so powder clung to the surface where it didn't have ink. I was determined to use it, fought my way through it, finally got enough LTC's, but will choose something else in the future.

I wish there was a way of ignoring trackers once I've seen one I'm not interested in like I can ignore a thread or person even.

Use tags. The "ignore box" option, for instance, is essentially a fancy named tag. It puts a mark on the box, then the search defaults to not show boxes with that tag.

Since trackers have tags, you can easily implement such a system yourself. Tag trackers you aren't interested in (you can even rename the tag to "ignore" or something), then create a favorite search that won't return trackers with that tag.

Kind of unrelated question: If I ignore a person, will their tracker not show?

I've never created an option to ignore a specific person's trackers.

It does look kinda like BOTH cutting tools have wooden handles.

BTW, I purchased a second snap-off utility knife at HFT tonight. I'm gonna leave this one in the package until I can get a better photo of the package, then I'll get better pictures of the tool itself. THEN I'll consider modifying one of these two -- possibly just removing the plastic housing, possibly pinching the tip to hold the blade with less wobble. Dunno if I'll be "hand polishing" it, though.

I replaced the stainless with black.

I think it's obscene that there's only white, black and stainless to choose from. I hate stainless--I have black appliances--classic.

I have been following the stories of Kent Brantly and Nancy Writebol who are missionaries that have been infected with Ebola in Africa. My heart really goes out to them and I have been praying fervently that they might best the odds which are pretty grim; but, I was horrified to see a CNN report tonight that indicates they will be evacuated by plane to the US and specifically an isolation ward in Atlanta. This will effectively introduce the horrific ebola disease to the U.S. Why the hell are we not closing our borders to countries and people affected by this disease? I can certainly understand the desire to offer help and aid to theses victims; but, public safety must come first!

Just curious, what are your thoughts?

I hope you find it. My first carved signature stamp from April of 2009 is in my car. It was used briefly in June, too. I do not want to lose that at all. I went back to the last place I used the stamp (no luck), and found a few more stamps with the new signature stamp. That one should still be in my backpack.

I'm not going to lie, it makes me very nervous. I live in Georgia, so it's pretty close to home. Sadly, it's probably only a matter of time before the virus finds it's way over here. Too many people traveling to and from, a girl from my church just got back from over there.. her group left earlier than planned.
Thankfully, she made it back safely and healthy.

I definitely think that this is already here. I know that when I was a student we would study and work with several bad bugs. We had to wear blue suits. Scary, but no doubt it is here already.

I suspect we have better facilities for isolating them in a ward in Atlanta than they have in Africa. But what makes you think they don't have Ebola samples at the CDC for testing purposes here in the good ol' USA already? We already know they're infected--as long as they stay isolated, I don't see them as much of a danger. It's the people who might be infected but haven't shown any symptoms yet that are a much bigger danger.

They are being treated in the highest containment biohazard medical facility. This has much higher containment capabilities than the place in Africa where they were treating the outbreak.

On the other hand, they were all suited up over there. And this is the same CDC that is leaving live small pox virus all over this country. Should we be worried? Can I do anything about it by worrying? No. Then I don't worry. (I can still pray that it doesn't escape though.)

To be honest, I already contemplated that possibility. Let's just say for arguments sake that there is some ebola on the U.S. Does that mean it is ok to introduce more? I just feel like we are tempting fate and being incredibly arrogant in our capabilities by flying known ebola victims into our country. It just takes one mistake or unknown method of transmition to spread this virus. Even Kent had said he followed every procedure 100%, so how did he and Nancy get this? Clearly we are still missing pieces to the Ebola virus and until we fully understand it we cannot fully protect ourselves from it. I sincerely hope this news story is wrong; but, CNN is usually pretty reliable.

I'm 110% sure our best medical care facilities are leaps and bounds ahead of what is available in most of Africa at this time. I would fully support air drops of everything and anything they need to provide medical care equal or close to what we can here. I just don't want to knowingly bring this into the country.

I totally understand what you mean by fearing non symptomatic people though! The whole chicungunya (probably spelled sooooo wrong) mosquito virus (?) really freaks me out too, especially living in Florida.

especially living in Florida.

You already have enough deadly things in Florida. I'm glad that the only deadly creatures we have to deal with are rattlesnakes. I'm talking deadly to those without specific allergies. (Here's from Wikipedia on black widow spiders bite: "Contrary to popular belief, most people who are bitten suffer no serious damage, let alone death. But bites can be fatal, usually to small children, the elderly, or the infirm.")
