Sorry, but I'll take whatever Webby has to offer, knowing how much effort she has put in to trying to keep us carvers satisfied, over anything else, any day.

Not knocking anyone. Knock yourselves out with whatever makes you happy. But knowing that Webby is constantly trying to find something that boxers will enjoy, and spending who knows how much time and resources into finding something that every boxer might be able to say, "Yes! That's it!", whether it works or not, is enough for me.

I've been able to carve with FK, MZ, NZ and OZ (My fav being FK, need I say it again), and been able to work it out without a single complaint from any other boxer.

But go for it. No skin off my nose. I'll stick with what Webby has put the effort into, and I'll enjoy every bit of it.

And I'm sure that sweetloveqiner is a decent person trying to do the same. But I'd still pick family over friends, and if I had to choose supporting one over the other, I'd rather struggle helping someone close to me, than trying to look for what makes my life easier.

I know, I'm not getting across what I mean in the best way. I'm just saying that Webby has tried her darndest to satisfy what we're looking for, and her trials mean more to me than anything I could ever come up with.

Anyway, my boys loved it, thought it was a good experiment, and it kept their mind off grandma in the hospital.

Before they knew my MIL was dying from cancer, and she was in the hospital, bed-ridden from it, we dressed up for Halloween, my wife, me and our 3 boys, not to trick-or-treat, but to make her laugh and smile. We marched into the hospital like a bunch of idiots, and that is still one of my fondest memories to date.

Celebrate life and each day you have. That's why I don't care for holidays - every day means something, whether you realize it or not.

Someone suggested a using a fire extinguisher to make the area really cold to flush him out.

We pulled the spare down last night (!!!) and threw some moth balls in it. We couldn't see anything. There were no 'leavings' this morning so we are hoping he has made his way to other accomodations. And by other accomodations, I mean not one of the other two cars.

You should have seen us. Talk about being on edge! Someone could have come up from behind and just said Boo and we would have jumped straight out of our skin. Golly!

My boss mentioned that black snakes don't have teeth so if he had tried to bite us "he really would have just been gumming your arms". Just the idea of a big black snake trying to gum my arms? Are you for real? I would *still* be screaming!

How can we find the Facebook posting? I'd love to see it.

A stop at the drugstore off the plane will take care of that. First things first!

I've bought all of my carving material from webfoot. I've been satisfied with it. I know that webfoot is also working on another material for the knife carvers. I'm looking forward to see what webfoot has available.

Black snakes have tiny teeth that help hold the food in their mouth as they swallow it. When they bite a human most of the time it will break the skin drawing blood. It hurts and snakes mouth has lots of bacteria and can cause an infection.

I am an eye witness to several black snake's bloody bites, my brothers and cousins couldn't resist catching snakes they found on the farm when we were kids.

I have looked for this, but apparently in the wrong place. Have you solved the puzzle?

Interest in Yosemite grew significantly during the early 1860s. Unitarian minister Thomas Starr King visited the valley in 1860 and saw some of the negative effects that settlement and commercial activity were having on the area. Six travel letters by King were published in the Boston Evening Transcript in 1860 and 1861. He became the first person with a nationally recognized voice to call for a public park at Yosemite. Oliver Wendell Holmes Sr read and commented on King's letters, and landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted was prompted by the warnings to visit the Yosemite area in 1863.

Pressure from King and Olmstead, photographs by Carleton Watkins, and geological data from the 1863 Geological Survey of California prompted Senator John Conness to take action by introducing a park bill in 1864 to the U S Senate to cede Yosemite Valley and the Mariposa Grove of Big Trees to the State of California.

The bill easily passed both houses of the United States Congress, and was signed by President Abraham Lincoln on June 30, 1864. The Yosemite Grant, as it was called, was given to California as a state park for "public use, resort and recreation.”

This is good to hear. I was working on some event planning this past weekend with some friends and we came across an old stamp of mine carved on orange. Orange is still the gold standard, as far as I'm concerned. Actually, we should probably just rename the gold standard to the orange standard!

I wonder if anyone else has thought about something that has been on my mind.
Webfoot no longer makes the carving material we all loved, for a reason. That was an environmental issue.
Now we learn that a wonderful carving material is available...manufactured where?? China? Spain? Obviously a country where anything goes, the environment be damned. Have you seen the news pictures of people in China who must wear face masks to breathe?
I, for one, will wait until Webfoot finds a formula that is environmentally friendly.

i am really coming down the 19th. we have to support WOO for FINALLY getting these in the ground, so we can all ooh and aah over them and make much of her PHENOMENAL carving skills (because they are - stop that! i know what you're doing as you read this, WOO) so she will do this again, but not take so long. . .

and i don't know yet, for the camping. Because i have to solve it first and i've been a little busy. hee hee hee

And, don't ever check your logbook in your luggage, on the same principle. You can replace your clothes, shoes, and makeup, but your logbook cannot be replaced so easily. Ever since a letterboxer in my area had his luggage lost by an airline, my logbook has travelled in my carry-on bag.

The luggage in this instance was eventually found and returned some time later, but better safe than sorry!

My money's on Fleetwood......I think I know where it is but I'm betting Fleetwood actually knows!

Ohh good point. I had jewelry stolen from checked bags before. Surely airline staff aren't interested in my logbook... ;) I think I might go put that in my backpack now just in case....

Also- So I had an idea for a stamp that would be fun to bring and plant....and I may or may not have started carving it at 1am last night. Then this morning I actually packed, and while waiting for the dryer to finish with my last bit of clothing.... I also carved a HH.....

I'll sleep on the plane.
