I'm having an aweful hard time trying to find you a picture and/or link of what I'm talking about but maybe someone else knows what I'm talking about. (?)

Its a PVC screw lid and container. It can sit on the ground and looks to most as its part of a drainage system or valve. we found a letterbox in two of these. The only thing is the finder must rescrew it perfect or water can seep in and it just becomes a mess.

Packing for a trip...

So I'm packing for a trip to visit my hometown. My brother boxes and we have plans to box together and I'm bringing some stamps to plant together, too.

Our flight leaves tomorrow afternoon. So far I have put a hold on my mail (so my mailbox isn't full of postals and LTCs while I'm gone). Typed out instructions for my dog sitter. Packed my letterboxing bag, stamps to hide, extra duct tape, baggies, logbooks, and copies of LTCs to give my brother.

Yes, in that order.
No clothes or toiletries have been packed yet.
I think I have my priorities straight?

Shout out to boxers in Tucson- be on the look out for a few new stamps in your area this week. :)

Sounds right. You'll need your toiletries tomorrow morning and how long does it take to throw some clothes in a suitcase, after all?

Sounds about right to me. You can always box without underwear, but you gotta have the rest of it, especially your presents to the locals.

Boxerless boxing, but not boxless boxing.

I ALWAYS get my LBing stuff ready first. After all, you can always stop and buy anything you forget. But a new LOGBOOK, letterboxing supplies, signature stamp, and printed CLUES? NO way!!

Have a great trip!!

You have a good point there.

Yes, exactly! Though I am visiting a large town so I COULD get a new log book. but the rest- no.

And actually this is one of the few trips in a LONG LONG time I haven't printed clues. I put my brother in charge of that because I know there's some he's wanted to find but didn't have a hiking partner for, and some he's found already that are his favorites he'll take me to. Plus one I couldn't find last time I visited, that he found like a week later when he re-read the clues and tried again. So I told him to put together a list and take me. Feels weird, but kind of nice not to have to do that work! :)

We are sorry that it took us this loing to answer your Invite. we havent been on the Atlas Quest site since back in Sep 2013. We do alot of Letterboxing & Geocaching (most LBs are normally on Letterboxing.org) and try an do those that are outside the Missoula proper when visiting our kids or when we take the RV Camping. We plan to re-search both Atlas/Letterbox to have a list of those for our next Camping trip. And to let Ya'll know the 15 LB's listed are only those that are logged/posted on AQ. We have way more on LBnA and a few Hybrids (LB's) on Geocache. If some of you have your own LB's there are too FEW Hybrids on the Geocache site. currently there are only 2 close to Missoula. Trying to solisite LB's for induction to Geocache so that Montana has a better Hybrid selection. After pooling many Geocachers the fun of finding
a "stamp" that shows off their visit is a thrill to them. Any thoughts? Looking fwd to seeing such..

I was so thrilled to see you there. It just made my night to have you there.

And then my boyfriend was texting me that he had seen it.

Thank you SO MUCH for recording and posting it!!

It is so difficult, the most difficult thing I have ever done musically. I really appreciate your recording!

I don't know how well this would work because its summer, but if you can somehow make where it is hiding cold, and then provide a heat source. Pack ice around it at night and then plug in a space heater nearby to lure it out. What a pain. At least this isn't your primary car. We almost had a gopher snake in our van a few weeks ago (also a Nissan - snakes have good taste?) but the kids and I were there with sticks to chase it out.
Good luck!

I've really been wanting to try some of this stuff, maybe you could order a little extra and I can pay you for it?

I hear raving about this stuff all of the time, and how you need to order in bulk to get good prices on shipping. Maybe webfoot can be the one to buy in bulk and we can order from her, after the move of course.
Soda can stove

My wife had to take her mom to the hospital this evening, so I had a few hours to spend with my boys (10 and almost 13) tonight. I've been looking at Ryan's Soda Can Stove website, and a friend had talked about using one while camping with a friend. So I decided to build one with my boys. We didn't have a ruler, so we just eyeballed everything, and slapped it together. I used 5 minute epoxy to seal and hold everything together, then built a simmer ring, snuffer, hardware cloth pot stand, and an aluminum foil wind break.

We put about an inch of water in a large tin can, and used the yellow HEET as fuel. With the wind break around the stove it only took a couple of minutes to boil. I think the stove is a little too short because the fuel burns out in about five minutes. It does get plenty hot though. The wires on the pot support were bright red when it was running full blast.

Anyway, my boys loved it, thought it was a good experiment, and it kept their mind off grandma in the hospital.

Thanks Ryan for all you do!
