Spent the day with Mouse Nanny, Airstream Dreams, Oceanwinds, and Oak. Lots of fun. The rain stayed away while we were out there, too.

Thanks!

Now back to the books.

I never liked the old ones. Too cheap looking. I liked how the 9/10 one looked alive, but I think my favorite one is from the movie. It looks like a home. http://images.wikia.com/tardis/images/4/46/8thDoctor_relaxing_end_of_TVM.jpg

Just noticed Google Maps now seems to have a "Treasure Map" option.

Probably not the best way to try and navigate city streets ... but amusing all the same.

I just want to wish you all a Happy Easter from us to you! We hope your day was wonderfully blessed and filled with fun, happiness, and treasured moments to capture as treasured memories. We started a new tradition this year by embracing the weather and getting out there and doing a little boxing, and a bonus round of disc golf. I just couldn't get enough of the beautiful weather and the long sought after sunshine!! We sincerely hope to be able to meet with some of our fellow boxers this year! Have a wonderful night!

Yes, she needs to get home, but FIRST - she needs to make it to Stone Mountain!
It took me all kinds of brain power to do PT homework before this event.

Intriguing....

I haven't been focused on PTs in a couple years for various reasons. Usually, these days, I quickly look before the event. If someone does give me the answers for mine, sometimes that motivates me to find theirs. However, maybe they are the same way, too.

So, so, so want to go. A few boxes at Stone Mountain have been on my list long before I returned to college. However, it is on a Wednesday. =(

One other note about stickers: Everyone seems to get it about the need for acid-free/lignin-free/low cholesterol, etc paper, but the most problematic part of scrapbooking and preserving photos and paper, and what causes the most damage, is the adhesive. Very few are archival (and those cost a bit). Eventually, they yellow and discolor the page next to them, stop sticking and fall off altogether, etc. Even aside from the preservation issue, isn't it ok once in awhile just to say, "Ya know, that's just not how it's done."

Letterboxing is a hobby to be enjoyed. Religion, or lack thereof, should not factor into it. But I guess it does.

I mostly ignore religious-themed boxes because they hold no interest for me. But sometimes the people who carve them, well, I like those guys, and so I have a few of them in my logbook. Gotta point out that it's the purveyors of religion, the people, who most often offend. Their symbols are innocuous enough and, mercifully, also silent.

How many people avoid boxes when the clues contain too many spelling and/or grammatical errors?

Ok. I'm one of those people who will tell the manager that the express lane sign should say "fewer" items and not "less" and that it's just obscene to "frezzer rape" (freezer wrap) meat. True stories. However, some of the most atrocious spellers are those fabulous right-brained folks, and man, are they ever creative! (Even though they should have someone proofread their clues if it's really that bad.)

1000 year membership question
Board: Atlas Quest Announcements
Mar 31, 2013 10:17pm
Thread Board
I'm on the verge of buying this, as deals like that don't come up often. My question is, would this membership be transferable? As I expect to be hidden in my own lock and lock sometime within the next 40-60 years, a 100 year membership would seem to be sufficient. However, if the 1000 could be passed on, I'll whip out the credit card right now. The only problem I foresee is the children fighting over the lone baseball cap.

I hope you consider my request. I enjoy supporting this site, and know my kids would prefer the 1000 membership over a vacation this summer.

And this is quite some deal!

And, at the end of the 1000 years, if you want to renew, you're guaranteed to receive the same low-low price of just $499 for another one thousand years! Considering inflation, that's practically FREE!

This equates to saving over three million dollars!!!

I consider toaster ovens disposable. They are cheap, the racks and pans that come with them are never stainless steel so they always start rusting soon, and they're virtually impossible to clean the inside. So, I just use one for a coupla years until it gets too grungy to use any more, then I throw it away and buy another.

Actually, one time Amanda got back from work and told me the place smelled like strawberries!

Hey, there's an idea: Only do this when the ol' lady is out, and toss a Pop-Tart in there at the same time. Throw the Pop-Tart out when done, it'll probably be toxic, but it'll make the place smell like you've been behaving.

(Guys have it too easy...lol.)

SWMBO prefers the woods to a public restroom. I kid you not, she'll request that I drive on by a McDonald's and hurry up and get to the trail so she can pee.

Deer: "Rats with antlers". Where my brother lives in Texas they have deer crossings marked on the pavement, they look just like crosswalks, and the deer use them! And they have signs with deer on them, and just when you expect the sign to say "Deer Crossing" or something like that, you realize it says "Do not feed the deer".

The problem is that mankind has essentially wiped out their natural predators, so the deer populations would explode exponentially if not for human hunters. And that's bad for everyone, including the deer; left unchecked, their numbers will grow until they are all starving. So, I support licensed hunting even though I don't care to join in myself.

Fortunately -- I guess -- I live in an area with plenty of hunters and plenty of land open for hunting. While I have deer grazing in my front yard on a daily basis, their populations are kept well within viable limits.

There's about a 95% chance it was picked up by somebody honest who is looking to return it to you. Was your name in it anywhere? Is there a local office or some such logical place where they might have dropped it off?
