Completely different animal, IMHO. To me, PZ Kut white was very similar to pink stuff only stiffer. PZ Kut orange was completely different, almost as though you were cutting wax instead of rubber. It was incredibly firm -- in fact, arguably too firm for images with broad expanses of solid black -- yet a knife slid through it with the greatest of ease as though it had a built-in lubricant. You could cut the tiniest detail and still get a smooth cut, as opposed to the way pink stuff sometimes gets ragged around tiny cuts. The orange color was a key feature, as whenever you sliced it with a knife the area would glow much brighter orange, clearly indicating where you have cut and where you haven't cut yet. I've since noticed that pink stuff does this too, just to a much less noticeable extent.

I take duck tape and wrap it around a popsicle stick. You can do two colours on a stick and it's a lot lighter and less bulky than the roll of duck tape. I carry it mostly to make small repairs on a cracked box or pouch.

All of my other boxes were undamaged, even those in the fire zone from April.

You just need to ascend some hills to get them.

It's October and the perfect month to find the recently planted "Spell Bound" in Fitchburg. Anyone who knows Sahalie will realize there's an excellent carving waiting for you. You won't be disappointed!

I suspect it's a good thing the Chippendale's guys are pretty, because I'm not so sure they'll get by on their brains. That being said, we all know who Dirty Old Woman me is rooting for!

opposed to the way pink stuff sometimes gets ragged around tiny cuts

Thank you for mentioning this. Now that I have new glasses, I'm really starting to notice the ragged edges and they are driving me crazy!

I have had access to only pink stuff for a long, long time. Thanks to a few folks here on AQ, I've been able to sample the firmer types of white and I am noticing some of the exact same differences that have been mentioned here with the tools. Good to know it's not just me. :)

As soon as I can get images to transfer to the other three pieces, I will have a nice set of samples to keep as PT's. All the images were made from the same type of design using the same tools, sharped before each carve. It's been a really fun experiment. Anyone have a list of all the mediums so I can double check to see what else I need to add to the group?

I still don't get what's so funny or particularly entertaining about the Gangnam Style video. I mean the song is catchy and the video is fun and all, but nothing that jumps out as hilarious.

A video doesn't have to be funny to go viral. I think it's mostly just the catchy music that did it. The production value is also amazing. I don't watch many music videos but that one is just plain amazing. It's all in the editing, the pacing, and a few visual gags.

Look up pretty much any music video by Spike Jonze and you'll see some amazing production value. My favorites are "It's Oh So Quiet" by Bjork, "Weapon of Choice" by Fat Boy Slim ("Praise You" also by Fat Boy Slim is pretty interesting).

Also, Michel Gondry is an AMAZING director of music videos... Check out "Come Into My World" by Kylie Minogue, "Hardest Button to Button" by the White Stripes (or "Fell In Love With A Girl" also by the White Stripes).

The videos I just listed are some of the best done music videos I have ever seen, and had YouTube been as popular back when those were all released they would likely have gone viral. They aren't funny, they are just plain entertaining (and in the case of Michel Gondry's work the timing, and the level of details because of his use of stop motion techniques and and multiples layers of video in the editing room were videos that I studied over and over and over when I was editing video myself... trying to learn from his style).

no one noticed the building size statue walking through the city???

no one ever noticed the huge space ship almost crashing into Buckingham Palace in the first Angels episode (whose name escapes me at the moment).

no one ever notices a TARDIS appearing and disappearing on various street corners in various places.

To mix science fiction metaphors, it's an SEPF. (Somebody Else's Problem Field).

In these tough economic times that seems a bit harsh. I know I joined recently and would love to pay the membership, however try telling my wife that :) I do understand that people have created these boxes essentially from scratch and if you made one you really wanted to protect, that would be one way of doing it. This brings the question to mind: Can box owners change the restrictions of a box after listing it?

I thought the same thing. I like the twins....they seem fun. That girl needs to let go of the fact that they gave the location of the abacus lady to the other couple. Its a race....you do what you have to. If they could, they would have sprinted by the other couple.

I dont hate any couple yet....doesnt seem like there are any fighting couples (at least not yet)

Yes you can. You just click the edit box icon.

I don't think around here there are many, if at all, boxes restricted to premium members only.

I will be at Ft Desoto Park, Shelter 14, near St Pete, on Sunday Oct 14, attending a Geocaching event. (gasp, I know...) Event is from 9 to whatever, probably 2 or 3 in the afternoon for me. I am bringing my LBing stuff, and have offered on the Geo Event list, to show how to make Letterbox/Geocache hybrids. Don't know if I will get anyone interested... but who knows.

At any rate, I will be doing some caching/boxing (hopefully mostly boxing!) with my mom, and so if anyone wants to meet up for exchanges and a little boxing with us... that would be great. I might even persuade my 9yr old son and 7 yr old daughter to come if anyone brings kids.

I'm allowed to bring guests to the event... Let me know, and if you want, I can sign up guests and so potluck lunch will be included. Newbies are welcome, even if not interested! We can meet at the event, or we can meet up on the trail, I will have my cell phone.

Between you young 'uns who watched Rainbow Bright cartoons and those of us who saw every John Hughes movie ever made, I think we've got a lock on this event.

I still have my Thompson Twins cassette.

And I have to add hearty congratulations to Bumble's event. Wow. Those clues were the best event clues I've ever seen.
