Yes it is. However, here's the bizarro thing: they don't have direct connections to BTV, which is what Mr. U needs. If Southwest flew into BTV, that would work. JetBlue flies into BTV; JetBlue flies out of Charlotte, every morning at 6 am. He can be in BTV by 10:30. On the way home, he can be back by 12:30 am, if he had to (not that he wants to, but he could if he had to). That was part of our decision-making process.
Did i mention Mr. U is bringing his job with him? Yeah, commuting once a month back to VT. i still have to find one. So, Dm, we may end up closer to Mooresville. Depends on where the job lands me. We're gonna start in Hickory, though. . .

Thanks Seagull but I'd much rather spend the time boxing, chatting with friends and staying AWAY from technology while I'm camping. I'll get to see plenty of cakes in the future :)

You should have listed it as a reserved box. As soon as you converted it into a traditional box, it would have shown up as a "newest" letterbox.
Be that as it may, your box already showed up as a new listing the day you listed your box. Just because it was unavailable didn't make it any less of a new listing. In theory, everyone would have already seen your listing--no reason to force them to see it again.

Event Idea, Anyone Interested?

I know it is really early, but I want to host a Christmas Cookie Exchange/Letterboxing event either in November or December. Would anyone be interested in an event like that and if so which month would be better for you and also the beginning, middle, or end of the month? If enought people are interested, I'm going to start looking for venues now. Let me know what you think!

Had a great time with Pi Tuesday afternoon. We were able to visit both the Carter Center and MLK Center, then the Varsity for our grease fix. The hard rains stopped our forward progress to Piedmont park and the dark made downtown driving pretty hazardous, so we picked up one drive by and headed back to her hotel. We are both excited about tomorrow.

I'm looking to do a series of five towers in my area. The "High Tower" in Somerville(aka Prospect hill tower). Wrights Tower in Medfa. Bearhill Tower in Stoneham. Slayton Tower in Melrose and "Stone Tower" in Lynn(aka Burrell Hill tower). Anyone interested in doing the one from their town. I am from Somerville I will be doing The High Tower" to start. If I can get people to help out that is great. The Stamp should be of the tower, duh! Lets do this.

How am I supposed to huff that 20 color 4"x6" stamp if you cleaned it off before I get there??
Try inking up an entirely dry, previously multi colored stamp with your lightest inkpad: white, parchment, ivory even pale yellow...Magic!

Most of the time. But sometimes the planter wants it hidden even when you're looking at it. There is a certain fun in hiding it like this. When I thoroughly search the area, down to the ground, I throw duff back into place so that it doesn't look very much disturbed. At least it will quickly (within two weeks) look like no one has been searching there.

In a wall it should be explicitly identified for two reasons:
- Walls with space to hide tend to be old and not in need of increased instability by people pulling out stones, bricks, etc.
- Walls tend to be in places with high visibility, so you don't want to spend a lot of time looking.
I'd only want a well hidden box where I'm not going to (long term) damage anything searching, and out where no one will be looking.

The only cemetery that I know of that has Confederate graves is the one at Finn's Point near Ft Mott in Salem County. I don't think there is any private property to be walked through though.
Springchick used to have a box at Supawna Meadows (also Salem County) that had you walk a trail near a very small private graveyard. Not Confederates though, this was a family who died because the tutor went to Philadelphia & came back with scarlet fever. Very interesting spot, probably also not where you were thinking of. :) Pretty sure that box is gone, also.
Now I'm intrigued...

I don't quite understand it either. Why a tracker for a traditional box? For donated boxes to events?
