I thought i knew what it looked like until Nate said I was mistaken and I can't seem to remember what the plant he pointed at looked like so I need to research it too...however on the ladies trip last weekend I did lean against a tree and felt like my hand was touching something fuzzy....yep, a nice poisonous vine of ivy. Thankfully I'm not reactive or allergic at this point so I'm good. If it had been my hubby he'd be in a world of hurt right now.

This one may sound stupid... but here goes... is there anyway to carve a stamp so the picture has more of a 3-D look and not so flat? Maybe by carving the stages of a picture to overlap each other, like a series? Just curious. :)

Maybe something like JFK? 3 Blind Mice has some great multi-layered stamps. Of course, this requires that you carve the stamp multiple times for different colors.

Someone else will have to post a pic of a layered stamp since I haven't done one yet... Aaah I see Aiphid posted it already...

But I shade mine, same way as I draw...taking your green mouse as an example, I would scratch out more rubber in the lighter areas of his tummy, and less near the edges. Some. people use cross hatchingto shade. You can also use sand paper...something I keep forgtting to try.

Our stay at the Camai was lovely--and a very nice breakfast if I recall correctly. I'm sure the owners must have thought us a bit odd when we called at the beginning of our week on the road in Alaska (when we hadn't even met them yet) and asked them to watch out for a package addressed to us, their soon-to-be guests.

I say replant them by July so I can find them when I visit again!! :-)

Since I'm driving out, maybe I can bring some containers and ziplocs to help the cause. I can't make logbooks as well as you can!

I happy to see a somewhat happy ending to this situation.

Do not get a Droid 4. If you love your BB, you will absolutely HATE Droid 4. I'm locked in for 2 years. I'm not saying all Droids are bad, but this phone is just stupid.

If I change the volume of one thing it inevitably changes the volume of another. For instance, I want to hear text messages louder but don't want to hear emails as loud. Either both are loud or both are soft. I have a freebie game that has ads in between. They blast me out of my chair if I set the volume so I can hear videos and music at other times.

On my BB I could choose whose emails gave me sound notifications and the rest were silent. I can't do that on this Droid. It's either all have sound notifications or none do. You also can't choose on the fly which email you send from. You have to go into each individual email to send mail from different accounts.

On my BB I could set different tones for different alarms. Not so with Droid. I can set different songs but not different tones. I want different tones. I don't like songs for alarms but I only have one tone choice and I don't like it. There are other tones for texts, etc. but not for the alarm.

On my BB I could turn my phone off every night and it had a setting where it automatically came on the next day at the time I chose. Can't do that with Droid and I haven't found an app that will do this. There probably is one, I just haven't found it.

Here's a BIG one: Droid 4 does not have a removable battery. There's a battery, obviously, but it is welded into the phone so if my battery dies I have to send the whole thing back to Motorola rather than find a cheap battery online.

I hate the Bluetooth interface. ONE time I accidentally said "Yes" when it asked if I wanted to "Contact" my mom instead of "Call" her and now it absolutely will NOT accept "Call" for my mom. "Contact" will email or text. So I cannot call her by using my Bluetooth only... I have to use the phone to dial her and then I can talk to her on the headset. Also, I can't seem to fine-tune the words. If I say, "Call Jim Cell" it sometimes says, "Did you say Call Jenn cell?" and I can't always tell the difference between Jim and Jenn on the Bluetooth voice. So I have to use the phone to dial my husband rather than hands-free also.

And my biggest pet peeve is that I never seem to hear this stupid thing. If I put the volume one notch higher, it is so loud I jump and if I keep it where it is, I rarely hear it.

From History of the 11th Indiana Battery by John Otto, 1891

“On the first of June, 1862, the paymaster made his first advent with us and everyone was happy. We had not received a penny from the government since our muster in. Six month pay were due and were paid us, and it would be no use in denying that the boys were glad, for the most of them had forgotten what money looked like. Then most of the money was sent home by the boys by an agent whom Governor Morton had sent to the troops of the state and promptly delivered to the families of the boys.”

I use a technique called "stipling". the closer the dots the whiter the image so you could basically make any shade you want by leaving more area untouched by little holes. you use a needle or an awl. (pointed object with a handle found in the bookmaking section). You punch holes into the rubber. the wider apart the holes are the darker the image (more rubber to stamp). the closer the holes are together the lighter the image (less rubber to stamp). any distance or grouping in between white and black is considered a "shade".

If you love your BB

Sounds like you loved your BB for all the same reasons I have loved mine! I just love how BBs handle email, and am loathe to give that up with my 10 email addresses that dump into one convenient location...

Aiphid, any chance you can make Box Radar work on a BB? :)

Which boxes need adopting, AM? Any additional info you can tell me about them? If no one else has written to you, I'll adopt them and go check them out in the near future. Let me know what you think, especially since I have the encouragement of seagull - if she says do it, it must be the right thing to do! ;)
