There have been many great replies to this post, and to be honest, I haven't read them all. I hope this isn't repeating anyone, however, I think it to be unique.

I'm nearing the end of my 3rd logbook -- all three the same 8"x11" 260 unlined pages.

My first logbook has stamps in chronilogical order . . . I soon found out I didn't like this method. If I wanted to see my exchanges, or stamps I've carved myself I had to flip through the book and find a page here or there that had what I wanted on it.

My second logbook I started putting my exchanges in the BACK of my book, from the last page and worked my way forwards to the front of the book -- while my traditionals, event stamps and personal carvings moved from the first page towards the back of my book. When they met in the middle, it was time for a new book.

Then my OCD really kicked in with my 3rd logbook. The first 10 pages I have set apart -- the first page displays the main event stamp of Events I've been to..... page 10 is full of my own carvings. I work my own carvings toward the front and the Event Stamps towards page 10 (they have no chance of meeting at this rate -- perhaps I'll just have 6 pages at the front of my next logbook).

Then page 11 starts my traditional finds and as before I have my exchanges starting on the last page of the book working forward -- when they meet, time for a new book.

hx6 who now can look at just his exchanges, just his traditional finds, just the [main] event stamps or just his own carvings at a whim without owning numerous logbooks.

Actually, in this example, it could be a F count requirement or a P count requirement......

It could be. The FIRST step in the process would be to think it was that. But it is real easy to eliminate that possibility.

But I don't think I'll be publicly explaining it since if people aren't catching on quickly, then perhaps some people can roll the dice that the target won't think of it or notice...

I agree about being a responsible participant. By joining other swaps you get a sense of who responds well. My favorite swap was one where every particpant was announced in a fun way when there cards arrived to the hostess. It was just a fun swap. Keeping your participants happy and informed is the best way to host and participate. I also print out a page for each swap listing who, what, where, when, how and my box #. I add a stamped image, the hosts address and a line for the date mailed and rec'd. And I write a note on it when the cards are returned to jog my memory. Only two out of bunches of swaps that say don't swap again!

Can't wait to find that one but the snow has taken over an the trail is tough enough in nice weather. The trail probly wont be ready till Agust and even then there might still be to much snow.
Only time wil tell. Happily Shadow

You will probably have a chance to seek that box before I will...I hope the line holds and the box is a fun find :) Given it is a less accessible part of the lake, I have high hopes it will still be there when you try even though it is one of the clearest lakes in the world! BTW I used an old scuba divers' double film canister holder as the underwater box - should stay dry for a while!

The fact that you can work around a blacklisting is beside the point. And the fact that the blacklisted individual may eventually find out that there are boxes out there that he's not privy to is a good thing. It says "You, and you alone, are not invited to hunt these boxes." If they choose to take offense, well, so be it. It's a hint, and a fairly civil one at that, that perhaps his behavior is not in keeping with this pastime.

I probably woulda flamed him.

I feel the same way about running low on carving material. However, there are at least four factors contributing to that response:

1) Like you say, carving too many stamps.

2) Nowadays carving BIGGER stamps.

3) At first, I was hesitant to stock up with too much because I wasn't sure if I'd lose interest and quit carving. That is evidently no longer a concern.

4) Time was when you'd run low and just buy some more. Then PZ Kut went away, and Michael's quit carrying pink stuff, and suddenly you feel the need to stockpile in preparation for the next unexpected drought.

Aww, that's sweet of you to ask. I'm still just messing around with it, but if I come up with something worth seeing I will post a scan of it. The tree looks kind of lonely on an LTC sized card right now.
