My siblings don't care at all who see them doing it. I met people in the military who did it too. I'm sure there's a lot of secret thumb-suckers out there. ;)

When are you teaching carving methods???? Seriously .............

Dunno if you want me teaching how I carve... I do it all wrong. I carve towards me, move the knife and gouge instead of moving the material, I don't specialize in one type of carving material or tool, and I change x-acto blades maybe 2-3 times a year, and never sharpen my gouges....

I use a lot of bandaids, too. :)

GJ (thanks for the kudos, folks!)

I haven't been to this Texas State park yet but in general you can expect several varieties of thorny/prickly plants so hiking boots and long pants are suggested. Bring a flashlight to find your way around the park after dark. Even though you are staying in town there will be informal social gatherings in various campsites, etc that will continue into the night as it is getting dark around 7:00-7:30 lately. The evenings get down into the 40-50's so a light jacket helps.

Even better, a hiking nekked with chocolate board.

I'd create such a board if I thought there really would be a demand for it. But I suspect y'all would rather just talk about hiking naked with chocolate than actually doing anything about it. ;o)

I carve towards me

I go both ways...
move the knife and gouge instead of moving the material

As do I...
change x-acto blades maybe 2-3 times a year, and never sharpen my gouges....

I only change blades if they break and have never sharpened a gauge...

I use a lot of bandaids, too. :)

Only a few times....!

This is one of those quotes that look awesome out of context. :)

Me, too, but the majority of the time, I carve towards me.

Why is that a bummer? You have a clue, go find a box. Just one more unlisted find you'll need to record.

I have been thinking of that naked biking thing...now with chocolate added to the mix...maybe I could use the Magic Shell chocolate topping to meet my need for a helmet for safety - could even make a big and little helmet... ;)

As far as I can see, my photo editing doesn't have a resizing option, but I'll ask--I know someone who'll know if it can do that or not. Thanks for the info. Actually my pictures aren't that much different than yours anyway, although I do have one with you in it. ☺

Oh, I plan to check it out next time I'm down that way, but I'm thinking the box might be missing and the planter deleted the clue if no one had found it. It doesn't come up on searches like the ones he hid in other states.

It was a pink knobby ball.

So far, that is the only prize people have reported. Has anyone gotten something OTHER than a knobby ball?

I purchased this book on CD at a thrift shop. 'Sposed to have 5 CDs and only had 4!! (Is this what I get for paying $3 for a $35 audiobook?) It's a murder mystery, people!

Trying not to produce any spoilers. . . .At the end of the 4th CD, we're into the trial and one of the victims' "history" has just come up. Can someone tell me what happens from there until the end?

Hey there,

I will be doing a small road trip over spring break to visit some of the places I might be doing my internship this summer. I was wondering if anyone could make suggestions about the best boxes for out of towners, I would prefer mostly drive bys and less than a mile, since this is a "business trip" and nothing more than 10 miles out of the way. I'm very high maintenance I know : P

Any suggestions would be great, Thanks!

Here is my Michigan leg of my trip.

What a lovely Spring day! Nothing could disturb the pleasure of those wispy clouds and chirping birds. Except, perhaps, murder!

You were one of a group of socialites invited to spend the day at Tudor Manor, the estate of Mr. John Boddy. A fine dinner party would, of course, commence in the evening. Meanwhile, each house guest whiled away the afternoon in various ways: reading in the library, playing piano in the ballroom, perhaps going for a horseback ride about the grounds.

But suddenly, the blood-curdling scream of a horrified man rang throughout the mansion! Within moments, all the servants and guests were assembling in the corridors, anxious to know what had happened. The ever-attentive butler whisked them all out to the patio around the pool and disappeared back inside.

Moments later he returned and quickly dialed the police. Everyone gasped in shock as he requested an inspector be sent round to investigate an incident of foul play: Mr. Boddy was dead! He hung up and announced that no one was to leave the area.

Soon the Inspector arrived, talked briefly with the servants, and proceeded to search the house as everyone sat about the pool, murmuring questions to one another. He returned with his arms full and dumped a pile of items on a table. Announcing that one of these things was in fact the murder weapon, he proceeded to take each house guest aside one by one and question them.

At that point, nobody knew by what means Mr. Boddy was murdered, nor even in what room of the manor the crime had taken place. It became clear that this was a deliberate ploy by the Inspector to smoke out the culprit, hoping that they would accidentally reveal themselves upon questioning.

Your own curiosity, of course, had you listening to the whispers of the servants. With the Inspector distracted by his interviews, perhaps you would slip out and do some investigating of your own and try to piece together where each person and item had been when you all heard Mr. Boddy scream.
