They really have...and I really appreciate the fact that they specifically targeted the female market...there were so few games out there that my girls were interested in. Our first decent computer was a mac (read 1990) but we haven't had one since...I never even thought about them not being available for Mac users. Glad your game is on the way! We are scouring the shelves daily for ours. Happy Playing!

My 11 yo thinks she's Nancy Drew. She even had me make Sew her a ND costume last year. She looked adorable. I wonder where I could post that picture?

I had Haunted Mansion for the Game Boy too and that was quite fun to play. At the time, i wished that they made more of the games for game boy, but now I hardly ever play with it anymore since I have my Ipod Touch!

Nancy Drew Graphic novels

For those who are trying to get their kids hooked on Nancy Drew or the Hardy Boys with limited success, the graphic novels in the comic book/manga style are an interesting update for the series

There are several titles already out there, but these newest ones are capitalizing on the zombie/vampire craze.

There were some Nancy Drew graphic novels for 10 cents at the library book store a few months back. Did you ever get a text message I sent? I had your number from when Ryan hiked the FL Trail, so it might have been an old number. I was sending you a message asking if you wanted any. They were either 10 or 25 cents ea.

Amanda doesn't get text messages, so I'm pretty sure she didn't get it!

I didn't realize the bottom shelf of my bookcase was so valuable.

There are *very few* Nancy Drew books that are valued in the thousands of dollars - most of the ones that are on home bookshelves around the country are worth *considerably* less. I kind of hate it when articles quote these prices - it tends to spawn a bunch of ebay listings where a $5 book is listed for $5,000.

I was watching Storage Wars on AE the other night and the fellow found an old Nintendo game. He swore it was worth $30,000 because he had seen one like it on Ebay for that much!! Too funny. So they took it to the game store and the clerk had to break it to him that his game wasn't even worth $10 much less $30,000.

Another fellow had found old concert posters. The appraiser was quick to point out that any bends or foxing of the edges greatly reduced the value. The same is true with books and dust jackets. They have to be in absolute pristine, perfect condition to garner top dollar. Even true first editions are not worth those inflated prices, unless they meet a lot of different criteria.

My dad runs into this a lot at his store as well, when people want to have him buy their books or oddities from them. They all think their stuff is worth so much... and the truth is, there's also the matter that something might be valued at a certain amount, but then you have to find a buyer who has that amount of money and wants to part with it in order to purchase your item.

I bought my daughter a full set of Nancy Drew books about 15 years ago, some old publishing dates some new. They have been her closet never read (guess it was my memories from childhood, not hers)... Any ideas what they might be worth now if I sold them? Thanks

What era are the books? Half price books sells the newer ones for about $1 or $2 each and the old ones for a little more.

If they are the shiny/glossy "flashlight" yellowspine editions (like were available at Costco for a couple of years) they are not collectible and you will be lucky to get $1 each for them. Older, Matte Yellowspine editions can be collectible and are worth more $dollars depending on age and condition. If you have blue tweed editions without dustjackets, $1-$2 per book, but certain books can be worth more, depending again, on their age and condition. If you have dustjackets on the books the prices jump up considerably!! The publishing dates inside the books are not a good judge for when they were made. They might say the date is 1938 or 1959..but the glossy flashlight editions were made recently, it just means the story is from 1938 or 1959 or whatever...

Your chance to meet Pamela Sue Martin!! Star of the 1970's Nancy Drew tv show on ABC. The producers of the show (WOMEN!!) will also be in attendance at the convention. Terrific women role models with great stories to tell of the behind the scenes of working in Television in the 1970's!! Plus lots of other fun events and a steampunk costume dinner! :-)
