don't be sad. here, hava a hug. consider this...you moved your entire household how many thousand miles and still managed to write 30.000 words? that's absolutely astounding! besides, the 100K you got last year ought to make up for some of that this year, right?? don't let your novel die, go ahead and finish it anyway. the people in my area are calling it NaNoFiMo...national novel finishing month...the quest to write 30K on any unfinished project, or finish it, whichever comes first.
2 years ago I got lost at 25K...because I spent half of the month out of the country. amazingly, I did my writing while in England, and then when I got home and life descended, no more was forthcoming.

And cheer up, there's always next year.

I've never carved the orange, but have stamped with it. from comments I've overheard by those who have carved both, orange is more stiff and firm, and therefore a little harder to get a gouge through. orange is a little better for carving fine lines. it is very good at taking ink on thin lines, but tends to have a problem with beading on flat areas that are inked. white is better at taking ink on larger, flat surfaces, and still does very well on fine lines, at least as fine as I am able to carve at this point.

I was with 2 vegetarians so couldn't enjoy grubbing down on roast beef and Yorkshire pudding

Bummer! The pub food in Dartmoor was the best! Huge oval platters piled high with meat, potatoes, veggies and everything swimming in gravy.

I've got the dessert planned out. A ton of detail hand sewing to finish and batches of costumes to get ready for shipping before Friday. I can't believe that with all the thread I have that I could run out of red thread last night.

Did everyone survive Cyber Monday? Anyone effected? Our computers at work were S-L-O-W!

Everything seemed fine for me! I just wish I had been able to take advantage of some of the sales. Instead I got stuck doing homework. AS ALWAYS. UGH!!! And both of my assignments were due last night and I just couldn't stay up until 4am again on a work night. Gave up at 1am. It's going to be another late night tonight to get caught up. I can't wait for this semester to be over!!! Three more weeks!!!

Oh gosh! I didn't realize the ghost from the prison was Helen too.

That was my first thought! Creepy!

On a side note, I had a dream yesterday that creeped me out. I "felt" something was touching me in my sleep. Do ghosts like to spoon? LOL Seriously though, I felt something touch my face and I tried to scream to wake up but couldn't. It must of been sleep paralysis or something.

Unless the rules have changed, the medallion hunt is not confined to the city of St. Paul. It is most often found there, but can be hidden anywhere in Ramsey County and, as recently as 2007, it was in Roseville's Central Park.

I don't know if you've noticed but the chatter on Ohio board came to an abrupt stop!!! Could it be us and our adventure ???

I know I was to exhausted to post right away. Then Thanksgiving got in the way. I never did post all my experiences like I said I would! I feel kinda silly to jump in now and do it on the Ohio board. I fear more people would think I'm crazier than I already am, lol.

JennieGee,
I'm so glad you worked up the courage to just let everyone know what you are dealing with. It must be a great relief to not have to avoid AQ and keep the secret.

I think mental issues are so difficult to deal with and greatly misunderstood. I feel for you going through this, and hope that soon everything will be back to normal for you and your family.

I echo dancingpecan - if there is anything I can do to help you (sort swaps, mail, carve), just let me know. I would be more than happy to give you a hand, if that would help you. I am positive that, if you desired, you could just put everything in a big box and mail it to a responsible boxer (that you trust) for them to take care of - really. No one would think bad of you - I promise. :-) Then you could be out from under this burden and have a fresh start.

I think you are wise in not making a lot of new commitments, even though starting swaps and seeing people get excited is kind of addicting. It may take a bit for you to rebuild your reputation again, but I'm sure with time and fulfilled commitments under your belt, it will happen.

YIKES!

The good news is that letterboxes do not look like medallions. But maybe we, as a letterboxing community, want to pay attention to the Carnival clues and alert planters if their letterboxes are in the carvinal's path.

If it will help, I'd be happy to sort-and-send cards you have, or pass on postals. If you want to, box up a pile and ship it my way. I have little to do of an evening and it would give me something to do.

I absolutely LOVE this show! I like the crime-solving better than exploring character's personal lives, which they been doing more of lately, but it's always an excellent story. They've had some great "guest killers" too.

Also, at present, what we knew as orange and white are no longer available. They are in the process of being reformulated and will be yellow and white, with a possibly different texture than before.

I too have suffered from panic/anxiety attacks in the past and they are quite difficult to accurately articulate to those who have never had them. When I was first diagnosed about 10 years ago, it was extreme. It was so extreme that for a period of about 1 year, I began exibiting signs of agoraphobia, which can happen with this disorder. Thanfully, I went from seeing a terrible doctor, to an awesome physicians assistant who got me on the right meds. In my case, I have been very lucky as this disorder seems to have gotten much better over the years and I no longer need to take medication. On the rare occasion that I have an attack these days, I can usually control it by drinking a large glass of water and a mild form of meditation. If anybody who has never had a panic or anxiety attack is reading this, let me tell you first hand it can be VERY paralyzing and an extreme case really can over take your life.

JennieGee, I hope your case works out as well as mine did. It just took lots of time, which totally sucks; but, there can be a light at the end of the tunnel.

This really cool app. ranks your boxes against each other. The top of the list would be your blue diamond quality boxes. To get to it you click on letterboxes (it is not on the dropdown menu). Then part way down you will see Box Rankings.
It is saying Sorry, you have no boxes currently eligible for ranking.
I have used it recently .
