Who got the rock dumped on their head???

hahaha That is what it looks like , now that you mention it.
Actually there was a letterbox tucked up under that rock.... but the ground around the tree settled or caved in or whatever..... that box was barely reachable.... and I had to dig with a big stick under there to get it. When we replaced it, We put more rocks underneath it and propped it up. Hope it lasts a while longer...

Always an adventure.

New trails at the Trexler Nature Preserve

Just an excerpt from this article:

"Large sections that were fenced off and closed to the public are open. Parking lots make access to the heart of the preserve easier. Nineteen miles of walking and biking trails, including a 1.2-mile portion along the Jordan Creek that can accommodate wheelchairs, traverse the preserve. Signs guide people around the area. Non-native plant species have been removed, making the area more conducive for native plants and animals to thrive."

Although I was at the Lehigh Valley Zoo today, we got there late and I didn't have time to check out all these new trails. Next weekend. I'm not sure what percentage of these trails will have box friendly locations but there is definately going to be a lot more room for new boxes.

Since I've been carving so much this past year, pumpkin carving was a cinch this year. Seriously... I carved the thing in like 10 minutes flat. LOL. It was Batman, and not the easiest I've ever done, but I flew through it!

Didn't use my 1v, though.

All I'm saying is be nice and you'll get nice. Be nasty and you'll get nasty back. Goes with anyone you're dealing with.

I completely agree. That is how I try to run my life. I've tried to be nice to her. I haven't tried cookies. :-) I'll try that next.

It just gets frustrating when important packages are delayed even when the sender paid more for express or priority mail and she doesn't even attempt to deliver them.

I slit the sides of the PZ Kut with an exacto, slid in one of those slim, strong earth magnets and then hot glue gunned the slit closed.

A few weeks back, I got through carving a stamp and then found it didn't stamp right -- one area printed too lightly. Come to find out I hadn't used the acetone scrub on it enough, and the surface of the rubber had a slight dip in that area. After carving it's too late for an acetone scrub, but I did manage to repair it. Nearby I made a slit that went under this area. Then I took a tiny -- and I mean tiny -- sliver of rubber left over from the carving and jammed it into the slit. I cut off the remaining portion of the scrap flush, but you can still clearly see where I crammed in this extra bit. It worked perfectly, bringing this dipped area right up level with the rest of the stamp surface so it printed just great.

So, if that works, I simply don't see how you can cram a magnet into a similar slit without causing the stamp to bulge in that area. Unless you actually remove rubber to make space for that magnet.

It's beginning to sound like we need to have an audio book swap. Anybody?

I'm game!

Anyone else? I keep buying them then donating them to our SPCA Thrift Shop. Might as well get a couple more reads out of them before they go there.

How 'bout we make a list of what we have that we're willing to lend or share then anyone who wants to can choose titles and we'll trade? Here's my list:
Brother Odd by Dean Koontz (CD)
The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman (CD)
The Last Time They Met by Anita Shrieve (Cassette)
The Widows of Eastwick by John Updike (CD)
Twelve Sharp by Janet Evanovich (CD)
Honeymoon by James Patterson (cassette)
Chalktown by Melinda Haynes (cassette)
Flirting with Pete by Barbara Delinsky (Cassette)
Outer Banks by Ann Rivers Siddons (Cassette)
The Passions of Chelsea Kane by Barbara Delinski (Cassette)
A Woman Betrayed by Barbara Delinsky (Cassette)
Unnatural Exposure by Patricia Cornwell (Cassette)
The Cat Who Dropped a Bombshell Lillian Jackson Braun (CD)
The Cat Who Went Up the Creek Lillian Jackson Braun Cassette)

Maybe not feed them? ...

I would agree with this sentiment, but I'm guilty of the same thing. I live in the woods, and around here when we're done with dinner we take the scraps outside and dump them near the base of a tree. Foxes are among those that enjoy them, along with raccoons and opossums. None of them have gotten anywhere near as friendly as the one in that photo, though, and we've been doing this for 20 years.

None of our foxes look quite like that one, either. Ours look like wild animals, while the one in that photo looks like somebody's pet.

I saw someone wearing this at my child's school. I had no idea it was from Martha Stewart, but I commented to another parent that it looked fabulous. I think it would have been fun to dress in green and brown, though, and be a eucalyptus tree. Especially since the kids at our school take a field trip to see the monarchs in the eucalytus groves. :-)

Are you going to keep those beads for yourself, or make her something nifty with it? I think that would be a really nice surprise to make her a bracelet or something. Friendship article type deal.

I haven't decided yet. I might make her something with lots of black to go with Elvis' fur. She likes black. Maybe some sort of sculptural wall hanging thingy.

We recently checked on one of our plants..."Desert Dolphin". A couple from New Riegel, Ohio had stamped our logbook. We had gone to replace our old stamp with a new one and want to send them a copy of the new stamp along with our "First Find" certificate. Their stamp was that of a hummingbird and a saying "Let Your Dreams Take Flight".

If that couple reads this, would you please leave a reply so that we can get this to you.

TIA
